"Becca, would you please sit down, you're making me fucking nervous." Luke muttered when I started to pace again, walking six steps from wall to wall before turning and walking six steps again. We were in my house this time, my room being fairly smaller than his.

"No dumbass." I snapped back, not able to handle his innocent act this time around. "This is the fourth time in three weeks we're meeting up and what have we got? That's right, nothing. I thought that maybe it was school, you know, maybe the ideas would come when Christmas break started, but nada. We've got less than a week, Luke, less than a week to create a wicked evil mastermind plan, when the last three weeks have given us nothing. "

I looked up at Luke unintentionally and instantly sighed at the distracted smile that was suited on his face. "Wicked evil mastermind plan? Are you for real with me there?"

I couldn't help but groan in annoyance. "Are you for real? Did you hear anything else other than that or were you just distracted again?"

Grinning, he shook his head that he hadn't, looking less than apologetic and I facepalmed myself. "Idiotic asshole."

I dropped down on the bed next to him in frustration, turning up the music louder. I had always loved this song though I had no single clue of how it was called. I always admired the voice of the singer and the way there were gaps in the music without it being annoying. It gave a certain specialty and beat to the song.

Gaps in the music.

It was as if a little light had popped up in my head and lit. That was it, the plan that we needed so badly.

"Luke, I have an idea!" I called out, maybe just a little loud unnecessarily, but whatever. It wasn't as if there was anyone else but Luke around to bothered and I didn't care whether het was comfortable or not.

"You have?" It sounded rather doubtful and so I first rolled my eyes before replying to him.

"Yes, I have a plan, you idiot, I wouldn't be saying it otherwise, would I? Now listen up. It will take some time to figure out the details and to set things up, but I think it is gonna be worth it if it works out well. Also, you need to think of what you're going to say to her, since everyone is going to hear you."

He tilted his head a little, certainly interested now. "Now that is something I like to hear. I knew you could do it. Tell me."

I glared at him.

"I'm done over here." I called to Luke and the boys, glancing over the stage proudly. Eventually, we had involved the band into our plan, because leaving them out wouldn't be very handy and confusing.

"I'm done here too." Paul replied, yelling a bit louder than necessary. We were fixing wires and installing mics in preparation for the plan and nearly done with the mechanics.

"Luke?" I asked, yelling, as I didn't know where he was. I'd lost him somewhere along the way. "How far are you?"

He poked his head from behind the curtains, looking a bit flushed from effort. "Almost done. Just need to make sure this is a closed space so no one will know we're here."

I nodded slightly. "Alright, I'm going to change clothing then." Since installing wires in dusty corners was quite a dirty job - as could be expected-, I was wearing sweatpants and a oversized shirt, not really fashionable for a night on stage.

I grabbed my bag and went to the bathroom. Quickly, I got changed from my oversized clothes to a rather tight black dress with a skirt that fell loose from my taille. I might not like dresses, but i knew when to enhance my features right.

I worked on some of my makeup a bit more, because when you're on stage, makeup always has to be a bit exaggerated, since the light makes your face very flat and two dimensional.

Slowly, a mischievous grin crept up my face. Tonight, the fucking bitch was going down and she wasn't even expecting it. Finally, I would pa t her back for all she'd done to me the past two years and the decent that I had to creep up from. I winked in the mirror one last time and walked out of the bathroom, dropping my bag backstage.

Slowly, the huge mansion began to fill with people and I carefully eyed Maddison, who came in and wrapped her arms around Luke, squealing something in his ear that even made mine hurt, meters away.

Luke noticed me looking at them and pulled a face. I laughed silently and mouthed, "It will be over soon." He nodded and a wicked grin spread across his face too, unnoticed bt ly Maddison.

"Becca? Shall we get started?" Paul said from behind me and I turned around to the stage. Before I could step onto the platform though, I heard Luke's voice in the ear piece we both were wearing. "Singsong, can you come over here for a sec? There's one last thing I need to give to you."

I called out to Paul that I'd be there in a minute and quickly walked to Luke. "What is it, dumbass? We need to get started by now. You should know, you're the one that made the scedule." It was the truth, despite my nickname for him, Luke was actually quite clever and organisatorical.

Luke pulled out his electric guitar from behind the curtains, cleverly hidden behind the velvet drapes. "Here, you should use this." The red and white instrument stood out brightly from the shadowy background.

Puzzled, I took it from him, weighing it in my hand. It felt normal, not like it had been messed with it. "Are you sure?"

He nodded again, face not as grim as you'd expect from someone who was saying goodbye to a beloved instrument. I guess the idea of tonight's reward made all things feel a lot better. "Yeah, you can keep it. I like the drums better anyway and you need your instrument as you have broken yours." I had no clue how he knew that, but I was grateful for the offer.

I was speechless, to be honest. I wanted to tell him how thankful I was, but no words would come out. After a little hesitation, I wrapped my arms around him in a hug and muttered, "Thank you." It was rare for me to say such a thing and it came out a little choked.

He smiled a little. He probably knew that too. "You're welcome, it's nothing. But if I were you, I would let go of me before Maddie sees us and suspects something."

I quickly pulled my arms back and smiled at him one last time before running to the stage with long steps. Paul sighed impatiently once he saw me, and muttered under his breath, "Fucking finally."

I rolled my eyes and walked up the stage, finally turning to the slowly increasing crowd. After a glance at James, who started to play, the first notes of Fall for anything started to sound through the speakers.

Together with Luke, I had carefully made the playlist for tonight and although I did not like all of the songs myself, they suited the situation perfectly. I took a deep breath and started to sing.

"Don't give yourself away, don't live your life that way. Of course he's gonna say, everything you want. He'll leave quicker than he came, now you've got yourself to blame. Don't put yourself back in the fire, again."

It was a rather upbeat song, especially for The Script, and I liked the rhytm.

"It's the same damn thing you're so quick to believe. You do it over and over again. And it's the same mistakes that I'm watching you weave. You do it over and over again.

So before they bring you down,
You got to stand or something of you'll fall for anything, fall for anything."

How suiting, seeing as Maddison had tricked Luke right into her game, made him love her. He would have fallen for anything she would have said.

But not anymore, because now, he stood for something and he was fighting for it.
