Sometime I wonder why things happens to me. Life always finds a way to surprise me. For instance, I never would've thought my relationship with Shawn would end the way it did. You really think you know people, but the closest people are the ones you should watch the most. Me and Shawn knew each other since we were in the 6th grade and we had a chance to build a strong friendship , and when it was time to take our friendship to the next level I was ready. But look how things turned out for us. I guess nothing lasts forever.

My friendship with Kendrick was growing into something special. He was caring and funny as hell. Something that I definitely needed in my life at the moment. He was just understanding and had a huge heart. He always found a way to make me smile. I still hadn't told him all the details about my situation with Shawn and he understood that I just wasn't ready to. He was always there when I needed him. Even though we had only know each other a short period of time I could see this was something that would last forever. I'm not sure if I was catching feelings or if I was just extra happy around him. But I knew this feeling all too well and I wasn't sure if I was ready for it.

I hadn't talked to my dad in a while so I thought I would call him to see what's been going on and what's new.

" Hey bunny" my dad said in his usual deep tone.

" Hey daddy what's been up" I said sparking conversation.

" Nothing much same ole" he said.

" That sounds absolutely boring" I said hearing him chuckle. I had been debating about telling my dad my situation with Shawn all he knew was that we had broken up.

" What's been up with you bunny" he asked sounding interested.

" Daddy you won't believe what happened at school yesterday. So I'm walking the hall going to class and some chick steps on my new J's, so I'm like oh hell nah you stepped on the J's homie and she was like stfu so I said snitch you better watch where you walking next time and she had the nerve to bump me so I had to snatch her up-" I said laughing at the joke.

" I know the fuck you didn't don't make me come whoop yo ass you ain't too old! Wheres your mother and why she ain't call me?" He said being dramatic as usual.

" Daddy I'm joking" I said dying of laughter at his dramatics. He huffed into the phone and started laughing.

" You always got joke with yo nugget head ass" my dad said.

" You feeling played homie" I said.

" Nah son ion get played" he said and we both laughed a comfortable silence. I was debating whether I wanted to tell him over the phone or in person so I decided to make more conversation.

" Where's Tracey" I said.

" She's cooking some dinner" he said sounding hungry as hell.

" Oh what's cooking Pops" I said already inviting myself to dinner.

" Pasta with fried chicken and a side of Texas toast" he said making my mouth water and stomach growl.

" How bout I stop by for dinner tonight" I said already out the bed and throwing on my jacket and shoes grabbing my keys.

" Sure bunny you can stop by anytime" he said sounding happy.

" Thanks Pops I'll be there in a minute" I said hanging up. My mom was in her room watching Untold Stories of the ER. I peeped my head in the door.

" Hey mom I'm gonna go by dad and Tracey's for dinner" I said trying to hurry cause a nigga was hungry. She looked up from the TV.

" What she cooking" she said sounding excited. My mom and Tracey went to High School together before she met my dad in college and they were good friends so when my dad and Tracey began dating and got marred there were no hard feelings between them and I was glad. They got along well and there was no drama.
