Kendrick's POV

Having McKenzy  around my family seeing how they took a quick liking to her made my the happiest nigga on this planet at the moment. My family had never acted this way towards Stacey. They would always put on this fake ass act like they liked her but deep down I knew they didn't. She was so confident to the point where she came off arrogant and she acted as if she was better than everyone. With McKenzy, she was just the biggest sweetheart you could meet. She was a little shy, but it just came with her personality. She had the glow and smile of a goddess that brighten anyone's day when she walks by. She was genuine and made everyone comfortable with her. Her beauty was beyond words that could be explained.

Sitting next to my grandmother, she stared at me with this knowing look.

"Na why you staring at me like that you haven't took your eyes off me since I sat next to you"I said putting my arm around her shoulder.

"You really like that girl I see the way y'all look at each other. It's young love and I know the feeling very well" she said patting me on the back.

"That's how things were with you and grandpa" I asked my grandmother doesn't really talk about my grandfather. After my mother left home for college, my grandparents separated. Not legally but for the time being. No one knew until my grandfather disappeared. No one's seen him in years, but I get the feeling that my mom knows something.

"Actually didn't initially like me. Back in school your grandfather had a huge crush on my bestfriend all those years back, but she would never pay him any mind. Through his antics to get to closer to her things between me and him began to blossom until your mother came along" she said with a sigh.

"Wowww I would've never guessed that about you guys"

"Many people don't and-" she said before cutting off her sentence. I looked at her with a confused. I looked behind me as I saw Stacey coming towards me and my grandmother and not too far behind was McKenzy with a unreadable expression on her face. I was completely thrown off guard by Stacey showing up here for my mother's birthday. I hadn't seen her since we had broken up and I transferred here to be away from her ass.

"Stacey what the fuck are you doing here" I said walking straight up to her immediately pissed off by her presence.

"Awww, Kenny you aren't happy to see me. I have really missed you dear, but I'm not here to see you. I wanted to stop by and wish your mom a happy birthday" she said as she walked over to my mother who looked happy none the less but completely confused.

McKenzy's POV

The girl just walked into the house like she owned the place and shit going towards the backyard. She didn't tell me her name, but she definitely knew who I was. Following towards the backyard, I saw Kendrick stand up from his seat.

"Stacey what the fuck you doing here" he said with the angriest look on his face. It seemed as if everything stopped and all eyes and them. I immediately remembered him telling me about his ex Stacey and the shit things she had done to him. I just continued to look like everyone else.

"Awww Kenny you aren't happy to see me. I have really missed you, but I'm not here for you dear. I came to wish your mom a happy birthday" she said going over to his mom giving her a slight hug and handing her a present. His mom accepted the present and gave her another hug.

"Stacey you know your not welcome here and instead of embarrassing yourself in front of everyone you need to leave" he said calmly to her as I stood next to him.
