above are the ages of characters of everyone.

It all happened so fast. I ran across the street in seconds. No this couldn't be happening. Just when everything was going well.

I bursted through the door and saw Venice breathing heavily with a pool of blood forming around her. Marina was crying on the phone with emergency services.

"It was a drive-by! I need a fuçking ambulance dammit," she exclaimed through the phone in Italian.

Before I knew it I was on the floor beside her. Words were coming out of my mouth but I wasn't sure what i was saying. I couldn't here anything around me. Tears were flowing from my eyes. Venice was so innocent, she didn't deserve this. Who would've done this!?

Moments later, I felt someone pull me away from her and the paramedics took her away. My mother and father followed her into the ambulance and inside i felt so empty...

I didn't even notice i was sobbing into Tyler's shirt.

I quickly pulled away from him and ran out of the store. I started running as fast as i could in a random direction. I looked at my white sweatshirt, it was spattered in blood. Where did Maddox go... did he— no he wouldn't have. Right?

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Maddox King

20 minutes before the shooting...

An unknown number showed up on the caller Id Of my phone. It was coming from Bulgaria.

I answered it and of course it was her.

Irina.

How did she find me?

"I know where you are King. Get up from that chair you're in and meet me at our spot," she ordered on the other line.

I don't get up, instead I angrily say "Why would I do that?"

She laughed. "Because if you don't I will personally blow up everyone in this store. Or maybe I will shoot that girlfriend of yours..."

I started spitting profanities and got up from the couch at Marina's shop. I would just listen to her. I always listen to her...

When I reached the back entrance, I knew what i needed to do. I had to meet her at our place. It was a little beach outside of the city.

Irina used to be a family friend, however her father became a traitor to my family and we cut ties just before our wedding.

It was an arranged marriage, and I was glad for it to be cancelled. She was everything I hated in a person.

Arrogant, stubborn, and short.

As I got closer to the beach, I felt my heart start to pound. Something just didn't feel right.

I reached the pier, Irina's back was towards me.

I think she could sense my presence because she immediately spoke. "Hey baby..."

I physically cringed at her words. "What do you want?"

"Hey, is that how you greet a lady? Cause I—"

"Enough Irina..." I said.

She then turned around. "I'm not Irina, silly. "

I looked closer. She was telling the truth because Irina had a birthmark by her left eyebrow... but she looked so similar to Irina.

Before I could ask any questions I felt a prick on my lower back and my whole world went blank.

Just one thing was on my mind...
Valentina.
