Just because I was great at it, didn't mean it was enjoyable.

I was revising formulas for calculus and physics as well as reading over prewritten paragraphs of German. I had to do it now because in three days I have to catch a plane to Italy just in time for Luca's birthday. I was surprising him, and then in a week it would be Christmas. We had three weeks off so I'd get some time to meet up with Damon and train.

Tyler and I have been a lot more distant, but we still hang out a lot and have fun together. We spent all of yesterday morning at the park studying and just laughing. He was a good friend.

Today, Maddox, Evie, Jay and I were in the library studying because it was midterm week.

"Hey Maddox. You speak a little German right?"

He looked up from his computer. "Uh, yea I do. What do you need help with?"

"Does this sound fine... Ich bin Valentina Aubrey Romano..." (I am Valentina Aubrey Romano. I am seventeen years old and used to live in Rome, Italy. I have seven siblings and speak 4 laguages fluently. I enjoy writing, singing and hunting).

I looked up at him waiting for a response. "How in the hell do you do that so quickly?"

"Dieser," I replied, pointing to my head. (This).

Languages have always came rather quickly to me. I was fluent in French, as well as Spanish, English and Italian. I've recently picked up German this semester and it was quite difficult.

"How did you nail that accent Aubrey?" Evie questioned.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Natural talent I guess."

I better ace this test.

One thing that always helped me get in the right state of mind was training. If I was stressed or angry or depressed I would go to the gym, do some martial arts and fencing. I wasn't in Italy anymore so sword fighting wasn't much of an option anymore... I don't thing I'm even allowed to go to a gun range without someone over 21.

But I can get a gym membership. I just found a new gym further away from campus, in the outskirts of the city, and I was planning on going this morning. It was 5 in the morning right now and I had a test at 10:00, so I had a lot of time. Tyler was sound asleep so I changed quickly into a pair of black Nike leggings and a sports bra. I threw on an oversized hoodie and my sneakers. Then I took the thirty minute jog to the gym, stopping to get breakfast on the way.

It was 5:51 when I arrived at the gym. It opened at 5 so I wouldn't have to wait in this sketchy area. I pushed the door revealing a scruff man in his thirties at a desk. The interior was nice, a big difference from its outside. Now that I look at it, this seemed like a pretty masculine gym— in need of my presence.

"Hello Mike," I said reading his name tag.

He looked up form his magazine and up at me. "You lost? The ballet studio is a few blocks away."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm not some thriving ballerina. I'm here to use the boxing area."

He looked at me unamused. "We don't do self defense lessons here little girl. So how about you go back to wherever your sweet aśs came from and leave my gym."
