14 | Wish

wow, imagine disappearing for eight months xD

My family got along really well with Maddox. His personality shined through as he talked to Luca and Rosé. It made my heart swell.

But that didn't help the fact that i keep finding myself in awful predicaments. An hour later, I made my way into Marina's room.

"Marina, I need help," I said shyly.

"Spill it," she laughed.

"Somehow I got two boys fighting over me. I like one more than the other... I think. I don't know. I just don't want to hurt any of them because they're  my friends and I don't know what i'd do with either of them in my life," I rambled.

She raised a brow. "Does this have to do with the little rat in our living room?"

"Maybeeee," I laughed.

She smirked, "Follow your heart. Who makes you feel alive, and safe?"

"I—"

Then the door opened. "Sorry to interrupt but I was hoping you'd show me around Val..."

That smirky smile. Ugh. "Okay, let's go King."

My sister gave me one of those big sister looks, the kinds that told me not to do anything dumb. I silently laughed and took Maddox's hand in mine and we were off to the streets of the city.

"I'm going to take you to my favorite bakery first and then we are going to go see some sights."

"Sounds good to me."

We walked around until we made it to our first stop, Le Levain Roma. It was my favorite bakery. It had a pastel colored exterior and it was one of my favorite places to go when I was studying or meeting up with friends.

"Ahhhhhh, Valentina!" smiled Annalisa. She was the wonder of the store, and one of my many cousins.

"It's so nice to see you again, Annalisa," I said as I wrapped her into a hug.

She released me and looked up to Maddox. She was only 5'0", so she looked quite small next to us. She, then, asked "And you are?"

"Hi, I'm Maddox. Most call me King" he answered.

Annalisa gave me a sly smile. "Nice to meet you. Now what can I get you all? It's on the house."

"We will get the sfogliatella and some canollis " I replied.

She put it into a to go box and Maddox trailed by me as I lead the way to our next stop.

We were at the Trevi Fountain, the first place my siblings every took me to visit.

      "Valentina, we want to take you somewhere. Put down the books and come with us," said Lorenzo, with all our siblings beside him.

"Now get dressed, silly. We have to get there before it gets all crowded," laughed Marina.

I put my favorite book down, and quickly got dressed in a long black sleeve, a denim skirt and my vans.

Luca, Venice, Faith, Lorenzo and Marina all waited at the bottom of the stairs and we packed ourselves into Lorenzo's car.

And in minutes we were there. The place I made one of my first memories with my siblings, Trevi Fountain.

We walked out the car and stared in awe.

"Make a wish Valentina," Luca told me in his small voice.

I took a second to think. I knew what I wanted.

I wished for happiness.

Back to present time.

"Valentina?"

I shook my head. "Yeah?"

He laughed. "I thought I lost you there for a second... this place is amazing."

He stared at the place in amazement.

"This was the place my siblings took me when I first came here."

We walked up to the fountain. I looked up to him and said "Make a wish."

He closed his eyes.

"Thanks for taking me here Valentina"

I smiled. "Of course. "

I know I may have lost her. I know I did. I just can't admit it to myself. How could I just get played like that? For Maddox?

This is bullsh!t. I cared for her for years and she says for us to just go. No! Why would she believe I would give up so easily? She chooses some gangbanger over me?! I could've-NO I WILL be there for her. I love her.

And I'm gonna go to Italy.
