Rosé POV
After I sang 'My Sunshine' to (y/n) I quietly left and let the doctors back in. I sat down in the hall feeling nothing. It hadn't hit me yet.
To my surprise the doctors came out with good news. "Ms Park - I don't know if it was something you did, but we noticed a small spike in brain activity. We won't give up on (y/n) yet."
I cried tears of joy, but the doctors quickly brought me back to earth. The chances of (y/n) waking up was still less than 1%.
The next year was the hardest year of my life. I had to return to work eventually, but I still spent every free minute I had with (y/n), talking to them as if they could still hear me. I knew they would wake up one day, I just knew it.
I did my best to focus on Blackpink, but I wasn't the same Rosé that I was before. I felt like I was letting my members down and the fans were starting to turn on me. After a few breakdowns on stage my management decided I should go on hiatus.
If (y/n) had died then at least I might be able to accept it eventually; it was the hope that was killing me. I spent every waking hour of every day thinking about (y/n) and what we would do on the day they woke up. I must've been in an awful state, because my family had to do an intervention and take me out of the hospital. I was only allowed visits on select occasions. I hated it so much, but to be honest it probably helped me.
Once a month I was allowed back to celebrate our anniversary. I made a cake and ate it by myself, but I put another fork out for (y/n) just in case. Every time I went back I brought another painting I made and put it on the windowsill by their bed.
On one of those occasions I painted our secret spot with me and (y/n) holding hands by the pond. As I went to put it on the windowsill, there were so many paintings that I had no space for this one. I dropped it and started crying. My sister Alice came and comforted me.
"Chae, I know how much you love (y/n). It's honestly the most impressive thing in the world to me - but it's killing you my love. Why don't you write (y/n) a letter with all your feelings so you can get everything out and move on?"
I thought about it. "I can write the letter maybe, but I don't want to move on. I'm not leaving (y/n) alone."
"Rosie listen to me, if (y/n) could see you like this is this what they'd want? What would you want (y/n) to do if they were the one suffering by your hospital bed?"
"I'd want..."
"I'd want them to..." I choked up. It was too hard.
Alice placed a hand on my back and whispered softly, "Come on Chae, you know the answer."
"Let me go."
