She was absolutely stunning, scintillating even. You honestly couldn't believe it, she was even prettier than what you had fantasized about. Her almond shaped eyes were complimented by a cute button nose, soft lips and rosy cheeks coming together to create an angel-like face.
But there was a nervous look on her face, like she was worried about your reaction. You couldn't imagine why. You realized you had been staring like an idiot.

"I uh... wow" you said, struggling for words, shocked at her beauty.
"Oh..." She said, slightly crestfallen. You know"
"I know? What do you mean? I was just trying to say um, you're, you know, beautiful" you stammered.
She perked up. "So you don't- I mean really? I'm not, but, um, thanks (y/n)" she blushed.
"Sure you are. Hey, what did you mean when you said 'you know' just now?" You asked.
"Oh.. I um... Nevermind, I was just nervous."
"Well you don't need to be. I just had to check to make sure you weren't a vampire or something under there, but looks like I'm safe" you joked, trying to lighten the mood.
She laughed, seeming relieved at your reaction. You couldn't imagine why, she was beautiful.
Your new friend sometimes confused you. Most of the time she was lighthearted and cheerful, but she had these moments where she would act awkwardly and choose her words carefully. You got the feeling there was a lot about her you didn't know about yet.
You unpacked your lunch, and you'd made sure to bring plenty of food. You took a big bite of the quesadilla (or whatever your favorite food is lol), enjoying the moment. You noticed Rosie had already finished her food, and was staring at her empty salad bowl with a sad expression on her face.
