the glasses

Inspired by the photo above ^^ so yeah this will probably be sad

Peter was at the cabin, he was visiting, Pepper's request. He didn't really think he would be welcome again since Tony died, he expected them to just forget about him.

Peter woke up from a nightmare, he's been having alot of those lately ever since he came back. He tired keeping it down, muffling his cries in his pillow.

"Petey? Are you ok?" A smal voice was heard from the door, Peter looked and he saw Morgan standing there, teddy bear in her arms looking worried.

"Morgan? Why are you still up? Did I wake you up? Im sorry mo." He asked and motioned Morgan to come sit on the bed with him

"It's ok Petey, I get nightmares too" she said while snuggling under the sheets with him.

It was silent for a moment until Morgan spoke up again, "what was your nightmare about?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well whenever I get nightmares either mommy or daddy comes and he wants me to talk about it, it always helps me so I thought maybe it can help you"

Peter looks taken back, he wants to talk about it but he doesn't wanna pour his emotional issues on this little girl. So he just smiles and shakes his head "I just miss your dad Mo. It's nothing, lets talk about this tomorrow, go back to sleep" he says lying down and facing the other way, he doesn't want Morgan to see him cry again.

Morgan just waits until Peter sleeps so she can do something that will hopefully help him.

Peter wakes up with Morgan out of the bed, he gets up and goes to the kitchen for breakfast and sees Pepper and Morgan already up

"Hey Mrs. Stark, Morgan. Good morning"

"Peter! Good morning dear, we're having pancakes for breakfast" Pepper smiled and went back to making Morgan's chocolate milk for the morning

After they ate Peter was about to go back to his room until Pepper spoke up "honey, can I talk to you for a second"

"Sure?"

Pepper motions Peter to sit on the couch while Morgan goes to her room to play and Pepper goes to her room to get something, she returns holding a small glasses case in her hands.

"Peter, this morning Morgan told me you had a nightmare-"

"I-Im sorry Mrs. Stark I tried keeping it down, I-I swear it won't h-happen again. I promise-"

"No Peter you didn't let me finish, I know you miss Tony, we all do, so I thought this is finally time for me to give something to you. Tony's been keeping this for so long now, he wanted to give it to you sooner but he didn't feel like it was time yet, so it's now or never." Pepper said, handing the case to Peter

Peter opened the case to see it was glasses, "I-I don't understand, why would Tony leave something for me, I don't get it-"

"Peter, just take the glasses. Hope these will help you, also I don't know if Tony ever said this to you but he loved you like a son he never had, you were his first kid. And you will always be his kid, you are our kid, ok? Don't forget that, we love you Peter. Now, go get dressed, Happy is picking you up later to see May again, you're welcome to visit here again anytime, your room is always here waiting and Morgan would love to see her big brother again soon"

They hugged and Peter went back to his room to get dressed

Back at the apartment Peter decided to look at the glasses, he took it out and read the note

For the next Tony Stark, I trust in you

Peter's eyes teared up, he put on the glasses and read the 2nd note

To activate glasses, say Edith

The glasses lit up and Peter was taken back, a robotic female voice spoke

'Recognition scan complete, hello Peter'

"Hello"

'There is a message left for you, would you like me to play it?'

"Uh yeah sure"

'Please put me down on a surface to play the message'

Peter placed the surface on his nightstand and waited, a holographic Tony Stark appeared before him

'Hey kid'

Peter was so shocked he started crying, even if this was just a holographic message. He missed Tony so much, even his voice can make him cry.

'If you're seeing this, I'm probably gone. Which I'm sorry kid, but if im still alive lets hope you never see this message. It would be weird to explain this to you, but either way I just wanted you to know that I'm proud of you. Right now as im making this message I'm working on a way to bring you all back, god I hope this works.

You know kiddo, I wanna say thank you, thank you for being in my life and for being my kid, you really changed me, you made me a better man. My father never really showed me love, so when you came along at first I was scared of becoming just like him. But you proved to me that I wasn't like him, I was better. I hope this works and I get you back kiddo.

I want you to meet someone, her name is Morgan. She's my daughter, reminds me alot of you, you made me more confident into having kids. That's why I married Pepper and had Morgan, I want you to be part of our little family soon. If I'm gone, take care of her for me. Im confident that you'll be the best big brother to her.

Well I gotta go now kiddo, I know you'll do great things in the future, I'll always be by your side or looking over you. Love ya kiddo, for the next Tony Stark I trust in you. Tony Stark out!"

The message ended with Tony throwing a peace sign and smiling. Peter was full on bawling, he missed Tony so much but he knew he had to make him proud. He can't just wallow in the fact that he was gone, he had to move on. That's what Tony would've wanted.

"I miss you sir, but I'll make you proud Mr. Stark. I won't let you down"

The next week Peter visited again and spent alot of time with Morgan, like Tony asked. Peter was determined to be the best big brother she could ask for.
