The constant rhythmic pattern of the heart monitor was starting to get on the underground hero's nerves. He'd failed a child, he'd made a rookie mistake that was life or death and he fucked it up. The least he wanted to do was make sure the kid was okay, that the kid would wake up. "Sir... uh... Eraserhead? H-how is he?" Kaminari sat next to the anxious hero, the scowl on the mans face clearly showed his distress. ".....he's gonna be out for a few days...." Shouta looked down at the yellow haired boy, easily spotting the sorrow in his eyes, giving him a sudden pang of guilt. "He's gonna be okay kid... It was my mistake, not yours," he tried to bring some reassurance, but didn't have much experience in that field, that was more for his husband than himself.
Speaking of, Hisashi had been left to deal with both the police, and the kids. So Shouta felt awful. He hadn't had a coffee in twelve hours and he was losing his mind. "It wasn't your fault, I-I'm sure you didn't realise how quickly he was falling from another rooftop," Kaminari looked over the green haired boys body, it was a worrisome sight. The IV drip stuck in his wrist with a breathing mask over his face. He had bandages around his arms, torso and legs, as well as those fancy hospital bandaids on his cheek and the left side of his forehead. Ever since the incident the previous day, the pang in both his, and the others hearts had grown. Everyone was so sure they'd lost him, Izuku hadn't been with them for long, but he sure made an impact.
"I could have gone faster, but I miscalculated how much of an effect his wings actually made... I should have been able to catch him..." Shouta whispered to himself, trying to work through his thoughts as his eyes barely left the limp figure of Izuku. "He must be a close friend?" Shouta asked as a purple haired boy sat next to the yellow. "He is," Shinso answered, placing his hand comfortingly on the others, "he'll make it, Denki..." he whispered, and Shouta had a sudden feeling that he was intruding on a moment. "Are the others coming?" Shinso gave a nod, "yeah, they were going to get us some drinks first, should be here in about ten minutes." Kaminari nodded, eyeing the steadily beating heart monitor with complete and utter rage.
"You should have let us come..," Shinso muttered, glaring at the hospital bed. "No, if you came, you'd either get in the way, illegally use your quirk, or hurt yourselves, and as a hero and a UA teacher, I can not have that," Shouta stated harshly, unfazed by the cold blooded glare the purpled haired boy sent his way. "If we had come, this wouldn't have happened, we would've tracked down Midoriya before he was thrown out of an apartment complex window!" Shinso snapped back, baring his teeth in an attempt to reel back his anger. "You would not have, you would've slowed us down before we even reached him, we got there as fast as we could have, having you there would have been extra babysitting, Hisashi is enough childishness," Shouta retorted, trying his gosh darn bestest to not lose his shit at a teenaged boy in puberty.
"We would not have, I knew we should have followed you two! Maybe we could have actually saved him, you're hero's, you should have saved him!" Shinso yelled, standing up from his chair to face the hero. "Stop being bothersome, it's in the past," Shouta was about to throw a child in a few minutes. "It's in the past, sure, but it wasn't in the past yesterday, how can you call yourselves hero's?!" At this point, Kaminari had stood up, trying to get Shinso to stand down before they get kicked out. "Look, kid... we did everything we could, we tried to save your friend, at least he isn't dead, which he probably would have been if we didn't step in," Shouta sighed in relief as the door opened, revealing his husband and the rest of Midoriya's friends.
"Well what you did wasn't enough!-" a hand was placed on the purple haired boy's shoulder, turning him around as a single tear fell from his eye. He quickly wiped it away and made eye contact with Present Mic. "I'm sorry, we should have thought it over, but Shouta is right, we did all we could have with the give situation, we tried our best and mistakes were made, please know we're humans aswell, and humans make mistakes... we're both sorry," Shinso sighed, half lidded eyes meeting the vibrant yellow of the hero's. "You're right.... I just feel like I could've done something, you know... to prevent this," Shinso sighed, "whatever, it doesn't matter anymore, what matters is making sure Midoriya's ok." The others nodded, looking over at the bed ridden boy, his wings were tightly bandaged, which probably made him uncomfortable.
Drinks were passed around, Hizashi having bought his husband a coffee. It was a comfortable silence, with the occasional small talk amongst the hero's and teens. That was until the heart monitor started to speed up. The rhythm continued to go up, catching everyone's attention as Izuku started twitching and moving around in his sleep. Shouta and Hizashi immediately stood up, "Hizashi, find a doctor, get them here as fast as you can," the black haired hero rushed his husband out of the room as he went to check up on the winged boy.
"E-Eraserhead... is he okay?" Kirishima asked, panic seeping into his voice as the hero paced in a circle. "What the fucks going on?!" Bakugo growled, watching with a sense of worry as the boy kept struggling with the light blanket around him. "Take off the sheet!" A doctor came rushing in, taking immediate action as the boy on the bed started trying to hide himself. "Everyone, please leave the room," he pushed everyone out as more doctors entered, all seeming to be in an organised rush. Making the teens and hero's panic slightly. As the last Doctor entered the room, a nurse stopped in front of the group, "hey, hey, it's all ok, he's having a nightmare, he's going to be ok," she explained, rushing inside with a small container as a doctor called for her.
"So... he's gonna be ok?" Kaminari asked, clinging tightly onto Shinso's arm. Todoroki nodded, "that's what the nurse had just said, were you not listening?" He looked at the yellow haired male, growing confused as he was sent a glare.
Luckily, it wasn't that bad. The good or bad thing, depending how you take it, was that Izuku had woken up. But he was in an instant panic attack and wouldn't calm down. The doctors weren't prepared for his wings to snap out of the bandaging and start flapping wildly.
