Wonu
After closing up the library for the night, Seo Hyeon and I decide to go and grab food before heading back to our apartment. While on the way to our favourite Thai restaurant, we get sidetracked why passing by a flower shop.
Seo Hyeon stops dead in her tracks to admire the flowers while I took a few steps forward before noticing that my girlfriend was not next to me. Turning around, I just see her admiring the multiple arrangements of bouquets on the display cart outside the shop.
"Seo Hyeon?" I call for her, but she was more mesmerized by the flowers "Aren't you hungry, my love?"
Turning to me she nods "I am, but... Look at how pretty they are!"
She then picks up a bouquet of multicoloured tulips and coral peonies, her eyes were widen and sparkling while looking at me while she asked "Aren't they beautiful?"
For a moment my imagination had a moment where she was wearing a wedding dress and a veil, and I couldn't help but smile as lean down to kiss her forehead.
"They're very beautiful, my love."
From the corner of my eye, I noticed the florist from inside the shop coming outside to help us. Just as she was about to put the bouquet back, I stopped her and showed my wallet to let her know I was going to buy it. Her smile grew wider as I took the bouquet from her hands and met with the worker inside before he could come outside so that he could properly ring me up.
"Your girlfriend is a lucky woman." The florist remarks as he wraps up the base of the flower stems.
I nod as I glance out the shop window to see Seo Hyeon was still closely admiring the other flowers, letting out a sigh of admiration.
"And I'm lucky to have her." I tell him "I'm hoping sometime soon, I'll be able to propose to her."
"I can tell that you'll make her a happy woman." The florist smiles "And with the flowers she chose, it may be a good sign for your relationship."
"Oh? What do the flowers mean?"
"For the tulips: a perfect or deep love. As for the peonies, they symbolize many things: such as romance, prosperity, a happy marriage, honor, and compassion."
I was in disbelief and amazement at the fact that the bouquet she chose was more than a sign that it was meant to be. After I finished paying, I thanked him and was about to turn around and leave when he stopped me, asking "I'm so sorry but... Are you Jeon Wonu?"
Surprised, I nod "I am. Have we met before?"
"No, but we do attend the same college." The florist says as he shakes his head "Anyway, I read your entry from the school's short story contest and I'm quite a fan."
Surprised, all I could say was "Oh, thank you."
"If you ever plan to publish an official book, I'd be more than happy to read it. The emotion I felt while reading it resonated with me so much."
I smile as I felt my confidence grow "Well thank you for your feedback. I'll be sure to keep that in mind, uh..."
"Joshua." he introduces himself as he hand the bouquet back to me before wishing me a good night. Rejoining Seo Hyeon outside the shop, she tilts her head.
"You took a while, babe. What did the florist talk to you about?"
"I know, I'm sorry." I scratch the back of my head "I would've been back sooner, but the florist is actually someone from our school! He told me that he liked my short story, and he said he would definitely read my books if I were to become an author one day."
"Ooooh you have a fan, how exciting!" she claps excitedly before cupping my cheek in her hand and pulling my face down just enough to kiss me "And that's for buying the flowers. You didn't have to, y'know."
I shrug "I know, but you looked so happy holding them. I couldn't resist."
"You spoil me too much" She mumbles as she plants more kisses on my cheek "And now that you have a fan, I'm going to have to compete with him to stay as your # 1 fan."
We laugh as I tell her not to overdo it, especially since no one will ever take her place. We then continue our walk to the Thai restaurant to get food before going back home. Glancing over at her on the way back home, her eyes were lost in the scenery and my heart melted.
I really can't wait to make her mine.

I couldn't help but smile as I finished reading this journal entry, full of emotion and love. It made me wonder if I would ever get to experience the same kind of love they had- of course, I don't doubt that they had their disagreements and whatnot, but what matters is that worked together to make things better and be better for each other.
I let out a dreamy sigh "They really were soulmates."
"Who are soulmates?" Dad asks, startling me as he walks in.
"Uhhhh, just these two actors... from a drama I'm watching!" I blurt out the first thing that came to my head "I was just watching them on a variety show episode, and they have such amazing chemistry!"
He raises an eyebrow as he takes a seat on my bed "Since when did you start watching dramas?"
I could feel myself sweating as I came up with another lie "Ha Won has been begging me to watch it just so she had someone to talk to about it- Yujin doesn't like watching dramas at all."
He stays silent for a moment before he lets out a chortle "Hm, and here I thought you were going to be stuck in your anime phase."
I roll my eyes with a smile "Ha! Bold of you to assume I've left my anime phase, dad."
"Still?" he groans "How are you still interested in all those ones about sports or the medieval romance?"
I then shoot him a glare back "Bold coming from the man whose popular book series is a medieval romance."
"It's different." he asserts.
I then argue back "How is it any different besides being in a modern setting?"
He tried to think of something, but fell silent before admitting defeat "Alright, you got me there kiddo."
"Ha! You've got nothing against my logic, old man." I declare as I do a little victory dance.
He laughs along, knowing that I'm joking before patting my head "Whatever you say, kiddo. Now come down and take a break. Dinner is ready."
