As the day went on, dad told me to get whatever I wanted and he would pay for it. I ended up getting two new books from the bookstore, a panda plushie, and some cute earrings.
We also happened to walk by the college he went to way back when, so he decided to give me a tour. As we walked around and he talked about the history of the building as well as his fond memories of being a college student, I try to figure out where each journal entry happened.
The library, the campus cafe, some of the studying areas. So many fond memories dad shared with Seo Hyeon here.
After a long day, we finally arrive home and I know for a fact that he's ready to turn in for the night. Hugging him as my thanks for the fun day, I placed the rose in the kitchen before heading upstairs into my room.
Picking up his journal one last time and I take a deep breathe.
This is the final journal entry he made before I was born. Probably the final few years he had with her.
After this, I'll finally talk to dad about it. It's heavy and I'm shaking from the thought of confrontation, but we have to rip this bandage off eventually.

Wonu
As each month passed, the date of our wedding was getting closer and closer. We had a venue booked, invitations sent out, catering arranged, and what we both plan to wear on that day.
Alongside all the wedding stuff, we also did a lot of saving and budgeting to eventually buy a house together. It was small, but way bigger than the lovely apartment we called home for so many years. And now, we found a new place that our future children to grow up in.
One evening as we took a break from all the stress of wedding planning to sit on the back porch of our new home. We sat in silence for a bit as the sun went down, and eventually we then began talking about the future ahead of us. On the topic about our future, of course that slowly transitioned into talking about children.
"You said a long time ago that you wanted to have kids, right babe?" She starts her question off as she laced our fingers together "Have you ever thought about how many kids you wanted?"
"Of course, I have." I let out a soft chuckle as I nuzzle her cheek "I do know how many I want, but what's important is how many you want too. The baby will mainly be affecting your body more than mine."
She giggles as she turns her head to kiss me, then whispering "You're so considerate, babe."
We let the talk about children fade out for a moment as we continue to savour the tender moment together. She then leans her head on my shoulder as she mumbles "You know, sometimes I wonder if this is all a dream."
I look down towards her and raise an eyebrow, asking what she means. She then clears her throat as she explains what she means "I mean that like... from the day we met, to our first unofficial date getting coffee, to when you asked me out, and almost half a year ago you proposed to me. I never expected my life to unfold into what we have now, and I'm so grateful to have you in my life."
"Oh? Did you expect your life to unfold another way my love?"
She nods as her shoulders slump "I expected my dreams to fail, meaning that I would have gone into accounting and business, eventually pursue a career I hate and marry whatever piece of shit my parents think is "perfect" for me..." She then lifts her head and cups my cheek with each hand "Instead I pursued my dreams, got the jobs I always dreamed of, and I'm getting married to the love of my life within a few months."
