Mia and I end up back at the hotel an hour later, once the rain has settled from a pour to a drizzle. We meet up with the boys in the lobby, as they had decided to stay at the hotel to check out the casino or something.Thorne takes Mia in his arms when he sees her and plants kisses all over her cheeks while Mia tries her best to get away from him. I have to admit, they're adorable.
Butterflies appear in my stomach once I'm reunited with Noah. I still feel like I'm seeing him for the first time whenever I'm with him.
Since it's gotten late, the four of us agree that it's time to turn in and head for our rooms. We first go to the parking lot to grab our bags before getting into the elevator, as our rooms are on the fourth floor. Reaching the correct floor, we hesitate outside of our rooms, as we never decided how we would split up.
"Why don't we have girls in one room and boys in the other?" Mia suggests.
Thorne's expression goes slack and his green eyes widen as if this is the worst idea he's ever heard. "No way. You're joking, right?"
"Why would I be joking?" Mia questions.
"Yeah, no. We're not doing that. You're staying with me," Thorne argues, shaking his head.
"Are you forgetting that you owe me?" Mia teases.
With no shame, Thorne says, "Yeah, and I thought I could pay you back in some other way."
I bite my lip as I share a glance with Noah. He appears to be holding back laughter, and I notice the way his lip twitches with the effort. This only makes me want to laugh as well, making it all the more difficult to keep a straight face.
"It's okay," I tell Mia. "You and Thorne take a room. And I'll share with Noah." If I'm being honest, I'd have to admit that I'm a little nervous about sharing a room with Noah. It's not that I think he'll make me do anything I don't want to, but I can't help wondering if maybe he wants more than I've yet to give him.
"It's fine," Mia tells me, as if she's able to sense my hesitation. "We'll share, and the boys—"
"Seriously," I cut in, offering her an understanding smile. "You and Thorne go ahead. Noah and I will take a room, and you guys take the other. Sound good?"
"Well . . ." Mia trails off, appearing thoughtful for a moment. Her eyes meet Thorne's, the hesitation in her expression suddenly fading. "If you're sure, then okay." She gives me a quick hug before saying, "We're in the next room if you guys need anything. See you later."
With that, Mia slips her room key into one of the doors, turning to Thorne and shooting him a warning glance before they disappear behind the door.
Turning my attention to Noah, I find that his dark blue eyes are gleaming dangerously bright as he offers me a smirk and mutters, "I guess it's just you and me now."
