i was just eating lunch with loren, emma, and madison

"hey do you guys know that band why don't we?" i take off my earbuds

"uh well i've heard of them" loren said

"yea me too" emma said

"why do you ask?" madison asked

"well i met one of the members at the cafe and it's a long story" i said looking at them blankly "you know what never mind let's talk about something else"

"wait what?" loren said

"nothing" i packed my things up and started fixing my shirt "hayes is waiting for me bye" i felt a little tug

"no sit back down!" emma pulled me back

"ok what?" i asked

"so this member? who!" madison asked, she was obviously excited

"uh his name is zach" i tried not looking at loren

"wait zach?" loren sounded shocked

"well yea but it's no big deal it's just that i met him"i chuckled while looking at the wall behind them

"wait you met him?" emma said

"well yea but it's no big deal" i said "let's talk about anything else please!"

"nope tell us everything!" madison said

"uh well we met at the cafe the day before me and hayes broke up uh then he asked for my number and i gave it to him then we started talking, then we met at my track meet again well he came over to me and hayes. uh then he asked me to go on tour with him and his band" i was out of breath after saying all of this

"wait let me back track. he asked if you wanted to go on tour?" emma said

"uh yeah but i don't know if i should go?" i said

i looked at loren and she had a blank expression, i don't know why but after i was zoning out i realized that loren and zach used to talk

"oh my god i'm so sorry loren i did not know omg" i said

"no no it's fine! you should totally go on tour it would be a great experience!" loren smiled, she obviously looked like she was about to cry "well anyways my mom is here to pick me up so i'm going to go! see you guys later" she hugged everyone but me she just waved at me

me, madison, and emma we're walking to class but then i felt a poke by my side. it was hayes

"hey" i smiled

"so i have a free period right now! wanna ditch?" he put his arm around me

"i would but i can't i have exam prep!" i said

"cmon just miss one time!" he smiled

"fine fine!" i smiled

"finally!" he kissed my cheek

me and hayes sneaked past emma and madison and went to hayes car, i still had my coffee in there

"shoot sorry that i didn't take my coffee out!" i said

"it's fine!" he locked the doors

"so where are we headed?" i asked

"the store then park!" he said

"ok ok" i said

me and hayes were talking all the way to the store and it started to rain

"do you think we should go home instead?" i asked

"no cmon it's fine!" he got out of the car

me and hayes just walked around the store making jokes and we walked around for an hour and we only bought chips and drinks, we then drove through the rain to the park! i had the best time ever. it was raining harder

"cmon you are soaking wet let's get you home" he gave me his jacket

we drove back home and me and him were laughing as we went inside my house even though we were soaking wet

"sarah marie johnson where the hell were you during school?" my dad asked

"uh at school?" i said

"no they said you didn't show up to your prep!" he sounded furious "do you know how much money i pay for you to go to that exam prep! you can't just ditch your preps!" he started yelling

"i'm sorry mr.johnson it's my fault that sarah skipper her preps! don't yell at her when it was my fault. i'm sorry sir" hayes said

"it's alright hayes i'll let this slide" he smiled

"i'll see you later mr.johnson, bye sarah" he said bye to my dad and kissed my cheek

"ugh i cant believe you!" he said

"IM SORRY!" i shot back

"do you know how much i pay for you to have the best tutor at school! just so you can get into a great college!" he said

"i'm sorry!" i said

"yea yea whatever, uh i got a phone call about this tour? what is this about?" he said

shit he found out about me going on tour

"uh i met this famous boyband guy and he invited me to go on tour with his band to be a photographer and i kinda said yes and he wanted your number so the manager can contact you" i was playing with the rings on my hand

"when?" he asked

"uh after AP exams" i said

"but school? senior year?" he said

"they said i could do online school" i said

"well if this is what you want to do then i'm fine by it" he said

"thanks dad and excuse me because im soaking wet and need to get changed" i started going up the stairs

"ok dinner is at 7" my dad said
