Chapter Sixty Eight- A Thousand Years.

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises

The morning had come quickly. I glance over at the window where the light of the day was shining through. I could feel Danny's arms holding me closely as I smile to myself as I soak up the extra minutes of the morning. Danny must have felt me turn around because when I did, I was met with his beautiful blue eyes. He smiles down at me tiredly.

"Morning darlin" He mumbles in his raspy morning voice, it honestly made me feel some type of way I can't deny it. 

"Morning love, did you sleep well?" I ask him as he adjusts himself so he's sitting up slightly, immediately pulling me over as I rest on his bare chest. 

"I always sleep just that extra bit better when you're next to me" He comments, man he was feeling cheesy this morning, not that I was complaining though. I chuckle lightly as I tiredly reply "ditto"

"You know love... I was thinking, why don't we get away for the night, it's been a while since we have properly done so" He suggests as I let out a sigh.

"Danny I would love to but I'm not leaving Dougie, I mean he literally just got back from the hospital, I don't feel comfortable leaving him by himself just yet, he needs me" I explain as I sit up from Danny's chest as I lean over to my bedside table and grab a drink of water. 

"I'm sure he'd want you to Eve, you stayed with him at the hospital" Danny tries to defend his reasoning but I just got annoyed.

"Danny, no. I can't" I shake my head as I slowly get up from my bed and put on my dressing gown.

"Eve" He trails sadly as I spin around quickly.

"Danny no, I can't leave Dougie after what happened, he's my brother Danny and he needs me right now, we'll just have to go another time" I tell him as I quickly walk out the room and down the hall to where I see Dougie having a cup of tea at the counter. He turns around to see me there and smiles.

"Morning beanie, sleep well?" He questions, bringing the cup to his lips.

"Surprisingly yeah, how about you?" I ask as I walk over to the boiling kettle and pour myself a cup of coffee. 

"Yeah I guess you could say not too bad, what are your plans for today?" He asks me as I add two spoonful's of sugar into my drink.

"Well I thought we could have a movie day or something, maybe get a Chinese for our dinner?" I suggest as I hear him stand up from the seat quickly.

"Danny said something about taking you somewhere today... are you not doing that?" He asks as I jump in fright to notice he was standing right beside me.

I raise my eyebrows slightly to show my confusion.

"Yeah he asked me but I told him no, I'm not leaving you a day after you try to commit suicide Doug" 

"Eve honestly... I just had a bad turn, things just got out of hand. Trust me when I say I'm fine and I want you to go with Danny today" He smiles as he takes my hand.
