"Iris, hurry up!" A feminine voice shouts from down stairs.
"I'm coming!" I yell, running down the stairs. "God, Mahogany, you need patience my child." I slip on my black All Star High Tops and my book bag.
"You're not the one that has to drive your slow ass to school." she retorts, walking to her driveway.
"Mag!" I say, mock hurt in my tone. "How could you?"
"Shut up, you're such a white girl." she teases, starting the car.
"Am not." I whine, slapping her. "I am actually part Latina." She just chuckles and continues to drive. If you haven't guess already, Mahogany and I have become very close friends. During the past week we have spent a lot of time together and it turns out we aren't all that different. Mahogany is sixteen as well, except she's a junior like a normal 16 year old. She plays basketball for the school team and is a gymnast. She is also a champion fighter, only lost three fights in her whole career.
Like Mahogany I used to play basketball, but was not a gymnast. I used to be a street fighter, before Mrs. Rydel found out, I miss the feeling of punching someone in the face to rid myself of anger and stress. In my career I had only ever lost one fight and it was because a weapon was pulled last minute. That was my last fight and the reason Mrs. Rydel found out about all the others. I haven't fought for almost a year now, and it's been the worst year ever.
"What do you want?" She asks, pulling up to the starbucks ordering thingy.
"Very berry refresher and protein pack." I answer, checking my phone. We pull up to the window and get our stuff. Mahogany and I split my protein pack and her chocolate croissant on the way to school and listen to some Rap music. Drake to be specific; she has a all of his albums from 'Thank me Later' to 'Nothing was the Same'. I don't know about you but it seems like she's obsessed with him.
"You have a fight tonight, right?" I ask, sipping on my refresher.
"Yeah, do you wanna come?" Mag asks, stopping the car.
"Sure." I answer, getting out and fixing the strap on my bag.
"You should start fighting, again." she comments, walking beside me. "I wanna see what you're like."
"I can't." I reply without hesitation, walking faster.
"Just one fight." she begs.
"I can't!" I snap, walking even faster. "I told you what happened with my last fight. You know my life being put in danger." I state, before she can speak. "It really has effected my my fighting, so I I just can't." well that wasn't a total lie. "Bye Mag." I run off to my locker, to trade out my books, and then to science class. When entering the class room I nod to Mr. A and head to the back. I sit in the seat two to the right of Ian's. I did promise not to sit in the seat and I always keep my promises.
Mr. A continues to ramble on about formulas when the door burst open. In walks the famous Ian and Kyle, I didn't know he was in this class. "Passes?" Arnaldo groans. They shake their heads as they walk towards the row I'm in. "You need to stop being late to my class and start bringing passes when you are." Ian plops down in his seat and sighs. "I know not going to happen."
"You know us so well, Arnaldo." Kyle chirps, sitting down as well.
Mr. Arnaldo mutter a few incoherent words before speaking up. "Glad you could finally make it after a week, Kyle." he changes the slide from the PowerPoint and runs a hand through his hair. "Now if we could get along with the lesson." Kyle nods and Mr. A continues with the lesson.
Kyle's head turns to the right and his lips form a smirk when he notices me. "Ris," he greets, turning to get a better view of me. "I thought you were a junior?" He says in more of a questioning tone.
"She's like a freak genius, or whatever, and skipped a grade." Ian answers, sounding bored.
"How did you know that?" I ask, feeling violated. What? I never told him this information.
"Mahogany," he answers, smirking "she never shuts up so before you tell her about your personal life make sure she knows not to repeat it."
"Note taken." I make a mental note and turn to listen to Mr. Arnaldo.
"She has a fight tonight," Kyle says, interrupting my learning. "are you going?"
"Yeah, she asked me this morning." I answer, after turning towards him once again. "You?"
"Yep, Mahogany is like the little sister I never wanted," he grins. "so obviously I have to go and embarrass her."
"He dose every match she has." Ian chuckles.
"Poor, Mag." I laugh. "being embarrassed durning a match is, I mean, must suck."
"Like you would know." Ian scoffs and rolls his eyes. I swear right then, in that moment one in time, I have never want to slap someone so much. I wanted to tell that I actually do know because I have been in that position. I know exactly what it's like.
"Right." I sigh, deciding to keep my mouth shut. I hate arrogant people like Ian Rider.

Mahogany and I walk up to the small, crowd of people in the alley way. We came just in time; getting to see the taller shirtless guy bring the shorter ones arm behind their back. The taller on continued to twist the other dudes arm until a cry of pain escaped his lips. Tall dude decided to knee shorty in the stomach causing for him to double over. Finally, the taller guy let go of shorty's wrist and punched him in the face twice before he was knocked out cold.
I clapped as the winner wiped some stray blood from his face. He lifted his head smirking in the direction of Mag and myself. I chuckled and walked over to him with Mahogany right by my side. "Iceberg!" He shouts, picking me up and spinning me around.
"Hi Vic." he puts me down and I kiss his cheek.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, scanning over my face. "You aren't fighting are you?"
"No." I answer. He let out a sigh of relief and hugged me. "I've missed you."
"I missed you, too." I hug him back and hear someone clearing their throat.
"Am I missing something?" Mag asks, after Vic and I pull apart. "How do you know the Victim?"
"She's my girlfriend." Vic answers, with a straight face, leaving Mahogany's mouth gapping open. I slapped his arm and rolled my eyes. "Fine, we are best friends." he says the last part in a girly voice.
"We stayed in the same foster home for about a year or two and were inseparable." I say, closing my eyes to capture the images of Vic, Thomas, and I.
"How do you know 'The Victim'?" I chuckle.
"I don't, but I've watch a few of his matches." she blushes.
"And who might you be?" He asks, suavely.
"I'm Mahogany and I have to go." She smiles, before turning to the crowd of people.
"I like your friend." he smirks.
"Oh shut up, Vic." I say, walking towards the front of the crowd so I could see Mag, Vic trailing behind.
