(Continuation from 'Back to Work')
The police car pulled up to the station and silent tears were falling down Dianne's face. The officers stepped out of the car and started to talk. After they were done, which took about 5 minutes, they opened the back door.
"Would you like to come with me madam?"
Dianne reluctantly got out the car and the tears were slowly stopping. She was led into the station and they opened a small, but very protected, door which led into a small interrogation room. Joe was sat in one of the chairs on one side of the dark, wooden table. Dianne got instructed to sit down next to Joe, so she did. Their hands met together under the table, as the fear got worse.
"So you both understand you are here for questioning about the disappearance of your daughter, Crystal Sydney Sugg. Correct?"
"Yes."
"Where were you when your daughter disappeared?"
"We were in my apartment."
"Why were you there and not with your daughter that day?"
"Well, I asked my friend, well, not a friend anymore, to look after her with his girlfriend for a day, so I could look after Dianne."
"Why did Dianne need looking after?"
"She was pregnant at the time, but she has had a miscarriage since. She was severely ill."
"Ok. We won't need to go into too much detail about that. However, how did you know abut the disappearance?"
"Well, we got a phonecall at around 12:30 in the afternoon and he told us."
"Is there any other details you would like to say to help the investigation of your daughter?"
"Yes. I got a message from an unknown number and it said something along the lines of 'I've taken crystal into my own hands and that if I found out who they were then they'll let her go somewhere where she doesn't know where she is' or something like that."
"Ok. Thank you for sharing that Dianne. That's very important to this investigation. So what we are going to do, we are going to leave you in here for about 10 minutes by yourself to talk and see if you remember any other information and we are going to talk to our colleagues."
"That's fine. Thank you."
The police stood up and took the papers, that were on the table and walked out the door. Dianne looked at Joe and squeezed his hand. Tears came close to falling down Dianne's cheeks, but she made a barrier to make sure they didn't.
"You alright gorgeous?"
"No really, I'm just scared they're going to think that we aren't telling the truth and that she's never going to come back."
"Oh, Dot, don't think like that. Promise you she will come back."
There was a knock on the door and it was one of the officers.
"Mr Sugg, Miss Buswell. We have some amazing news for you."
The officer let another officer come in with Crystal on his hip. Joe and Dianne's faces lit up into the biggest smile and tears of joy fell down Dianne's cheeks. They both ran up to the officer and Dianne took Crystal and gave her the biggest hug.
"Oh my god, oh my god, thank you so much. Do you know where she was?"
"Someone brought her into the station whilst we were talking."
"Thank you so much."
Dianne lifted Crystal up and gave her to Joe gave Crystal a kiss on the cheek and gave her a hug.
"You can go home now if you would like but if you want to stay in the reception area for a while, that's absolutely fine. If you have no ride home, I don't mind taking you in the car."
"Would that be okay, if you take us home?"
"That would be absolutely fine by me."
"Thank you so much."
Joe put Crystal down and held her hand. All four of them walked towards the car and got in. Dianne told the officer their address and started driving home. They were back together. One happy family.
