Always Happens To Me

chapter 4

MARI'S POV

God why is Gavin so annoying?

I just closed the door on him and I don't think he like that I shut the door on him, but I don't care.

I have no idea why but I despise him even if he's handsome and saved me from James.

I decide that it be a great idea to keep working on the manuscript I had been working on before Gavin had bothered me.

I love my job and all but it stresses me to have a due date for the manuscript.

I'm almsot done with the current manuscript that I'm editing, the author did a pretty good job with the grammar and another common mistakes.

I finish editing the manuscript after about fifteen minutes and then decide to call my best guy friend, Josh. And yes he's the fuy who Gavin reminded me of.

As the phone rings he answers, "Hey Petersen, what's new in L.A."

"Nothing much Josh except I finally broke up with James and a new guy moved in next door, how's New York."

"It's alright, I miss you, I wish I could go visit you but you know how busy work is."

"Yeah it's alright and I miss you to, I might be able to call you more often since my boss is giving me more manuscripts that I can edit without worrying about close due dates."

I hear him scream a yes and I start laughing. "So Josh anything new in New York?"

"Well I alnost got fired last week for pissing off my boss, also I am finally getting over Jasmine.."

Jasmine was his ex, but they broke up when he caught her sleeping with another guy.

"Well Josh it's great that your finally getting over her, she doesn't deserve you."

I hear him chuckle and can imagine him nodding.

"Well Josh I have to go it's nine here and I have to wake up hella early tomorrow and you know I hate waking up early..."

"O.k. Petersen hopefully we'll talk each other later on in the week."

Then he hangs up. And I put my phone down on my coffee table, then head to the restroom to get ready to sleep.

I put my light brown hair in a messy bun and then brush my teeth. Afterwards I wash my face and then head over to where I left my phone.

I grab my phone and head to my room then I connect it to the charger and put it down on the nightstand next to my bed. I then pull up the covers and slide in to bed and fall asleep.
