Always Happens To Me

chapter 7

I went inside of my apartment after what just happened and I was shocked.

I really want to go tell Gavin thanks and maybe ask for him over for coffee but I can't.

I'm really scared to even knock on his door. He's totally creepy but not like James.

I decide to go say thanks but before I do so I put my hair into a ponytail.

*knock knock '*

I knock on his door but he doesn't open, oh well I tired. But I'm about to leave the door opens.

And in front of me there stands Gavin fully dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. Thank god.

"What do you want Mari?"

GAVIN'S POV

"Uh..... I wanted to thank you for helping me with James."

Mari starts to play around with her fingers. I'm guessing she's too nervous to say anything else.

Or is she just scared?

"Your welcome Mari, did you want anything else," as I finish saying that I lean into the door and cross my arms.

"I also wondered if you," she looks down, "would want to come over for a cup of coffee. "

I'm about to say no when she says, "please just as a thanks. "

I give in and nod. She smiles a bit and says, " ok thank you so much."

I close my door and head over to her apartment. As her door opens I again notice how well organized everything is.

Last time I was in her apartment was when James had hit her and yet then it was clean and organized.

As I get in she closes the door and then walks off, I follow her to the kitchen.

She opens a cabinet above her and as she stretches her shirt lift up and bit and I notice how flat her stomach is. Why haven't I ever noticed how hot she is ?

She sets down two mugs and then fills them with coffee from a kettle.

She then sets the mugs on the table and sits down in one of the chairs. Then she looks up to me and says, " go ahead and have a seat Gavin. "

I do as she says and sit down across from her. As I sit down she says," you can start drinking the coffee, I'll be back in a sec."

Then she leaves to the living room, after a couple of minutes she comes back with two big stacks of papers and a pen.

"What is that for Mari," I ask before thinking.

"Oh these, they're manuscripts that I have to edit for work since I work as editor."

I just nod, damn she's hot and smart.

"I'm just going to work on these, you can finish drinking your coffee."

She sits down and starts to edit her manuscript. I just stare at her while drinking my coffee.

After a while I finish up mt coffee and she looks up,"oh your finished... thanks again for helping me."

I nod and get up put the mug in the sink bjt before I do Mari is already out of her chair and takes the mug away from me.

"No Gavin it was me treat you don't have to wash it, I'll do it. Thank you again."

"Your welcome and good bye Mari. Thanks for the coffee. "

I then leave and go home. I lie in bed thinking about Mari.

Nothing in particular abput her just her name.

Mari...

MARI'S POV

~2 TWO DAYS LATER ~

Oh my today Josh is arriving from New York.

Yesterday I called him and asked him if he wanted me to pick him up or would he ride a taxi.

I picked the taxi, which I fully understand he thinks I drive to fast and will get him killed.

He's supposed to arrive in fifteen minutes or that's what he told me.

Today I decided to wear simething casual. I'm dressed in blue skinny jeans, a white lace top, and a pair of white sandals.

I also did my hair in a French braid. I put put on a bit of mascara and lip gloss.

I still can't believe Josh is coming to visit me, I haven't seen him in about half a year.

Im so so so happy !!!!

I sit down and finish editing my last manuscript for the day. After a while I hear a knock at my door.

I run, open the door, and jump on Josh hugging him as hard I possibly can.

"God didn't know you missed me this much Petersen," he says laughing to himself.

"Well to bad Josh I missed you and you can't do anything about it."
