Always Happens To Me

chapter 8

GAVIN'S POV

Great today's Sunday. Tomorrow I have to go teach....

*God didn't know you missed me this much Peterson.*

Didn't Mari say her last name was Peterson? 

I decide to go check on Mari but what I find surprises me.

There stands a guy and also Mari with her legs around his waist while hugging him.

I wonder who the guy is... He's about 6'2 and is well fit...

"Well to bad Josh, I missed you and you can't do anything about. "

"Well I guess I can't but I missed you to", says the Josh guy.

Mari gets off of him and then says, " So tell me about New York while I was gone ?"

So she's from New York, it's interesting that she came all the way to L.A.

"Well everything is fine, your parents are still pissed for leaving to pursue your dream and Kaine can't get over the fact that you left him and your parents just because you didn't want the money."

Wait what Mari has a brother ? And what does he mean by money.

Then Mari turns her face a bit and a shocked expression covers her face.

"What are you doing here Gavin ? How long have you been standing there ?"

"Uh.. I heard your voice and wondered if you were alright but I now see your fine. Bye."

I hate being rude but I haven't even met the guy and already hate him.

MARI'S POV

I wonder what Gavin was doing ?

"Hey Mari lets go inside, I wanna here how your weeks been ?"

I nod at Josh and we both head over to my apartment and go to the living room. He sits down on my couch while I sit in my rocking chair. What can I say I love my rocking chair.

"So I'm guessing that's Gavin the guy whose helped you deal with that damn douche James?  Why did he seem angry? "

"Yes that's Gavin but I have no idea if he was even mad or why he was mad, if you want you can go ask him."

Josh starts laughing and stops slightly to say, " I can't believe you actually said that. Hahahahahahaha !!"

"Do you wanna have dinner since you've been on a plane for a while ? And plus I'm hungry ." 

"Sure we can go to a restaurant so you don't have to cook and dang you love food don't you ?"

"Well what can I say food is my best friend and yeah we can surely go to a restaurant."

"Hey I thought I was your best friend", I then shake my head in a no.  He hates it when I tease him like that.

I smirk starts appearing on his face and I realize what he's going to do. Then he start chasing me around my living room and I trip on the edge of the table and fall. Why do I have to be so clumsy! !

He then takes advantage of me haven fallen and starts to tickle me and my sides.

"STOP IT JOSH!! STOP TICKLING ME! PLEASE ! I GIVE UP !"

He stops tickling me and grins like a madman.

"Josh thanks and by the way get ready we're leaving in five."

He gets up from the floor and puts all his things on the couch then says, " Ok I'm ready to leave."

I grab his hand and start running, I close my door, and then run down the stairs with him in tow . (A/N tow as in like, back of me. ')

We reach my car in the parking lot and I shove him in the passenger and speed  off. I'm driving completely above speed limit (A/N I in no way support speed driving.)

Josh is holding onto his seatbelt as if his live depended on it. God he really does lile I'm going to kill him.

I drive to a really nice Bar and Grill place that I'd seen on the way to work the other day.

I head in and we get a table pretty quickly due to the fact that there's barely people here. I order a hamburger with fries and a beer while Josh orders a large chicken sandwich with onion rings and a coke.

"Mari do you think its a good idea to have a beer right now ?"

"Sure it's not much and I'm not a lightweight. Plus now you're going to drive my baby when we go home."

He smiles at that.

*5 Beers later *
JOSH'S POV (A/N surprised )

God I have a feeling that Mari isn't well enough to even stand. Right now I'm driving us back to her apartment.

As I reach the parking lot, I go over to the passenger side and get her out. But she can't stand up so I pick her up and carry her bridal style.

I go into the apartment building and use the elevator instead if the stairs. I wonder why today she got drunk so easily, whenever we went to a bar in New York she would have five beers and she'd just be tipsy.

Finally the elevator reaches her floor and I go over to her apartment and open the door I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"Excuse me dude but WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO MARI!"

Who is thia guy ? Oh it's that Gavin guy.

"Nothing happened dude we went out to dinner and she had way to many beers. And I had to drive her home. "

"Oh..." Why does it sound like he doesn't believe me. Oh well to bad for him.

I go into the apartment and head over to Mari's room and put her in her bed. Then head over to the bathroom and look for an aspirin. Finally found one !

I get her a cup of water and put the cup and pill on the night stand and then head over to close the door to the apartment.

That Gavin guy is still there.

"Aren't you going to leave now Josh. "

I chuckle and say "No I'm staying here a couple of days then going back to New York."

He frowns and then leaves... oh well. I shut the door and decide to watch tv. I'm pretty sure I fell asleeep right after I turned off the tv.
