Umbridge incoming. Let me know what you think!

~Professor Pendragon

—————————————————————

"Great..." he mumbled.

Umbridge quickly stepped into the darkly lit room. As she looked around the room, like she was searching for something else, her gaze lands on you.

"Well... well.. well. What have we here? Fornication on campus grounds?! WHAT will I tell the ministry? Tsk tsk tsk," she sneers.

You roll your eyes, not believing the two of you had just been caught by not just anyone, but Umbridge. You slide off of Severus's desk, straightening your robes.

You made no excuses, you knew she wouldn't listen to them anyways; even if they were legitimate.

Severus seemed very concerned and flustered. His head was down, trying not to make eye contact with the woman in front of the two of you.

"We were just minding our own business, miss." You told her.

No words could describe how much you hated this woman. She always seemed to have it out for Severus and now she would have a reason to come after you.

"Humph. I'm quite sure of what I saw. You're coming with me, Miss l/n." She reaches and grabs your arm.

You try to pull away from her to no avail. Severus begins to finally snap out of it and goes to grab you away from her.

"She's not going anywhere." He growls.

Quickly she turns to face him, still grasping tightly to you. Your arm began to ache terribly and you looked down to see her clawing into you with her nails.

"She IS coming with me or what I tell the ministry will be even worse than it already is. Do you understand?!" She spits in his face.

As he wiped his face, you could see his black eyes fill with anger. However, there was nothing he could do. You both knew it was best if you went without anymore fighting.

As she yanked you out of the classroom and down the hallways to her office, you wondered what she wanted with you. Remembering her whispering to those men in the darkness also made you feel uneasy. You hoped she had nothing planned for you.

As you both finally arrived at her office, you glanced at the door. It read, "Dolores Umbridge: Senior Undersecretary to the Ministry of Magic." You didn't know why she was even at Hogwarts if not to spy for the ministry. All she ever did was criticise the professors and how they taught. You had also heard how she had once punished Harry Potter with the black quill. Her methods were brutally horrific.

She pushed you into a chair and went and sat behind her desk, folding her hands. All you could do was stare at her. Again, a goblin of a woman. Hell, even goblins weren't that ugly.

"Do you know why I wish to speak to you?" She finally retorted.

You shook your head, not letting your gaze stray from her face.

"Our records show that you have failed to mention that members of your family were or are, animagi. Is that correct?" She said smugly.

"No, ma'am. I have no idea if any of my family were animagi. They never spoke to me about it. Besides, my family and I have never been very... close." You replied.

She looked down at a paper on her desk, a frown spreading across her face. Then, she grabs a quill and scribbles aggressively at the paper. You swallow the nervousness rising in your throat, you could not let her find out.

"Well. I was hoping you had some answers for me. I see now that it was absolutely useless, speaking to you. You may leave now." She waves dismissfully at you.

You go to stand up, but as you do, a thought ran through your mind. Without realising, you begin to voice it. Damn your slytherin qualities.

"Well, if it was absolutely useless, then why do you even bother. Why don't you go back to the ministry and crawl back into your hole where you belong!" You growled angrily at her.

Taken aback, she had a dumbfounded look on her face. You had never spoken to another professor or anyone in authority in that manner. She then became suspicious.

"Is there something your trying to hide, my dear? Why would you be so angry if you weren't trying to hide something?"

Holding back another angry retort, you storm out of her office, slamming the door behind you.

How dare she question you. You had never done anything during your time at Hogwarts to warrant such pettiness.

You stroll angrily down the hallways, navigating easily to Snape's classroom. It seemed to be the only place lately that you felt safe. You longed to be held in his arms again, to forget that pink creep.

Opening the door, you look around inside his class realizing he wasn't there.

Where could he be?

Finally, accepting the fact that parts of this night were depressing, you decided to spend the rest of the evening in the classroom. You walked each row of desks, looking at the faint scribbles where some students carved notes into them. You only imagined how Severus must have reacted when he caught them doing this. He was very strict when it came to his classroom. You looked upon the dusty shelves that held ingredients and the cauldrons stacked in the corner. You smiled, remembering your time as a student.

As you finished walking the rows of desks, you came up to Severus's desk and podium. Large books about advanced potions lay open everywhere, notes scribbled in the margins. Even a large stack of student essays were there. Most of which had failing grades written neatly on them. Smiling again, you turned around to survey the empty class from the front of the room.

The candles made shadows dance on the walls. The smell of old books and herbs wafting around you. You felt as though you could stay in this room forever. Longing, again, filled your heart. You wondered where Severus could be?

Deciding to leave the classroom and find him, you turned to look out the windows in the hallway. The sun had began to come up. Realizing how tired you were, you headed toward your living quarters. It was no use looking for Severus if you couldn't stand upright due to drowsiness.

Arriving at your room, you waved your wand to light the candles. Closing the door behind you, you began to quickly undress from your robes and crawl into bed. You were starving but too tired to do anything about it.

As you drifted to sleep, dreams of Severus and you played in your head. Smiling to yourself, you snuggled deeper into your blankets.

(Several hours later)

A loud knock came at your door.

You immediately opened your eyes and looked at the clock on your wall.

3:00 pm.

"Shit! I'll be late to class if I don't hurry!" You grumbled.

Finding the nicest looking robe that was clean, you threw it on and said a spell to fix your hair.

Grabbing a bagel from your kitchen top, you went to answer the door.

"Hello, professor. Could I interest you in a coffee over some conversation?" The blonde man smirked.

Ugh. Lockhart. What could he want?

"Of course, come in. I don't have too much time though, DADA will be starting shortly." You replied politely.
