Prologue + Chapter 1

Hikaru Emrys hair is wavy, going up to his shoulder and a bright shade of ginger. His eyes Indigo with some specks of gold, freckles all around his cheeks, skin relatively pale. His height around 156 cm and more on the feminine side.

Hikaru ended up with a sudden muteness at the age of 5 years old, and no doctor knew how he ended up mute. It wasn't the typical muteness as no noise escaped. It was as his voice never existed, which couldn't be. As the boy had his vocal cords and they are healthy. No specialist knew what it was and so he had to live with this.

He had to learn sign language, and sometimes he even had to write. Let's just say the writing part wasn't easy when you can't read. Not everyone could speak sign language nd it was hard. But his mother accepted him still and even helped him out with his tuition. As the muteness wasn't the only issue he had, but ADHD. It meant that he can't stay still too long.

For those who wonder how it feels like, well he is restless and as well he gets distracted easily. There is as well the fact that he is impulsive and that can tend to get him into trouble.

But this wasn't enough, no. He can't read either and has to do with his dyslexia. So that it was not impossible to really read. The school wasn't easy as some students are bullying him because of these things. But his mother always knew how to make him feel better.

This wasn't the only that was making his life a not so easy, Hypoglycemia. He had to have constant some snacks with him and medicine as well. So that he had not really easy. Not to mention he had to be careful that his blood pressure doesn't get too low. But sometimes he forgets to eat, and he can get rather a distracter.

But the fates didn't hate him enough and he ends up at the age of 14 in an orphanage. His mother died because of an accident but something was strange. But even now three years later he couldn't put what was strange about his death.

The worst was that this orphanage or the person who should take care of the kids is abusive and it was he who mostly takes the blame. Hikaru wasn't even minding it as it protected the kids. Now at the age of 17, he ended up getting taken by some weird half goat and a half human person.

It was really weird, and he could just communicate through sign language, but the person couldn't understand it. Not fun at all and he was really confused and as well scared. This person simply managed to make her take him away, but then again, he was kind of glad but still felt concerned for the kids.

His eyes looked around as they entered a weird looking place. The goat person tried to assure him that he wasn't going to do something, but he couldn't help but feel wary about him. At least he got some food before entering so he should be at least fine for a while.

"Chiron, I brought him here, but I couldn't communicate with him." 

This person looked friendly, but he couldn't help but feel really intimidated now. His body shook and he looked more like a scared animal right now.

"It's fine. You can go now, Anton." The male gave one last glance and then Anton left him alone with that massive and intimidating person.

"Hi, I don't know why you brought me here, but I have to thank you. Oh, and I am Hikaru Emrys."

Maybe this person could understand him, and he saw at the first surprise on the weird-looking male. It was making him self conscious and he hoped that he wouldn't end up harming him.

"That explains it. Alright, so I know where to put you but first let me introduce myself." He swallowed as looking up as well. A harp was seen above, this was even more confusing. So, all he has done was nodded slowly. "Nice to meet you, Hikaru. I am Chiron the director with Dionysus or Mr.D."

His mouth shaped into an oh from. Dionysus was from the myth he had got read from his mother. He loved it and his mother was not minding it. So that he knows enough about myths, but they are myths.

"Wait, does that mean the myths are real?" He signed again with a curious look.

"Well, I am for sure real and your father is Apollo the sun god. The harp sign showed which godly parent you belong to." The explanation was making him blink and he got excited. Because of all the gods, Apollo was favorite right after Poseidon.

"That is badass. So, are all of the myths real? And wait does this make me like Hercules?" A bright expression was given this time and for once he forgot his shyness entirely. The excitement was yeeting his usual shyness away.

"Yes, and you have other half-siblings." This made him nervous and anxious expression made over his face. "Do not worry, they are all kind."

All he could do was a nod at this but not signing anymore. "Let's get you to the Apollo Cabin. Will is the head counselor and will show you around and answer any question you have."

Once again, he nodded and followed Chiron now. But had to stop a few times as he tripped a few times. Which was probably why he ended up more than once. But that just because he felt tired and his body was sore from his bruises he got. He was sure that it wasn't his low sugar as he had eaten before. 

"You alright?" Chiron stopped and he looked up, figuring out what to tell this person.

"Yeah, I just have some soreness and feel pretty tired." Hikaru signed and the adult looked more closely at him. The first subconscious response was, making his body small and waiting for something to happen.

"I am sure that Will takes care of any injuries you got from what went behind the closed door." From the tone, he could hear that it was solemn, and it made him smile slightly. This person was kind or seemed kind. They continued to walk, and he wondered who this Will person was. 

A/N I hope you enjoyed it and not sure that I portrayed the pjo characters right. I have read the first four books. And made sure to look into the characters more. I still hope you enjoy this chapter.
