As closer they got as more anxious, he was. It was pretty clear that this person hates people with magic, and it wasn't even his fault. Hikaru was born this way and this was utter bullshit. It was as if someone would say 'people with swords are evil,' or 'being gay makes you evil and you're going to get the gayness,' which was utter bullshit. The second one actually had happened to people in his school.

This was why he had hidden his sexuality, but it was getting more difficult. Because he wasn't wanting to hide this, but his confidence was in the way of this. Which was why he is hiding this.

His attention shifted back as he heard the door open. Merlin entered first, with confidence, but here was him. His shoulder sacked down, head relatively low and his eyes looked anywhere else. There was as well the fact that he was making himself even smaller. The reason was just that he felt scared about meeting Uther.

They walked up, and he bowed first but not having eye contact at all. This person could kill him, but Merlin seemed not to care about this fact.

"I brought him, King Uther. So, what's up?" Slowly his head raised, and he saw Uther let out a sigh and Arthur shaking his head with an exasperated yet fond expression.

"You know why we send you to get him, so don't ask this question, moron." The person next to the king said. He looked like the person on the picture, but the only exception was that this person had not the indigo eyes.

"Still can't help but ask, because you said yourself. I am a moron, my pratness." A curtsey was given at the end to the blond person and tension was felt. It wasn't the kind of danger tension but a different kind. But he had no idea what it was.

"Silence you two." The older man said, and both straighten themselves. Now his attention fell on him and the critical look was making him swallow.

"Because he is mute, he will work with any guests that will come. But for now, he will work under Merlin." His heart sank because this meant new people, and this could end up horribly wrong. When he wasn't mistaken, people who are mute or had a disability were not treated well. Usually, they were even worse treated as servants without any disability. He as well Hypoglycemia and this won't end up well.

"With all due respect Father, how can he work with people who can't understand him. Merlin and Will are the only ones who can." His head looked at the younger male now. The person intervened and sounded genuinely concerned now.

"Doesn't matter. He is lucky that he gets a job at all. Now go." He bowed and nodded. Merlin had eye contact with what was probably Arthur and it seemed as they had a short silent conversation.

"Understood, sire." Then his wrist was softly taken, and they walked out. His heart sank now, and he was genuinely concerned about his wellbeing. No one would treat him well. Uther wouldn't care when he would get abuse but maybe just maybe the prince would, but does it matter?

The king would brush him off and that scared him. They soon entered a room that was way bigger, and he looked around with awe.

"Alright, we sadly can't right now train but I will ask Arthur. The male would for sure want to see your skill in archery or any fighting skill actually." A nod was all he could do, and he played again with his sleeves.

"And I am sorry about this. Well, how about we start cleaning. You can start by polishing the armor and I will start cleaning the floor. Later on, we have to get a meal for Arthur. Then we muck out the horse stable, afterward training starts."

A nod was all he gave as he starting to polish the armor. This was relatively boring, and his attention constantly went away towards something else. ADHD was really a curse to have. But around 15 minutes later the same male walked in. His attention fell on the person and he gave him an apologetic look.

"I apologize for my father's behavior he doesn't really understand why I am treating everyone the same way. But anyway, I am Arthur, I know from your friends that you can't talk so I will let Merlin be the translator. Let's just say he is a mind reader." A wink was given at the end and he couldn't help but have his lips slightly twitch up at this.

//Tell him to thank you and it's fine. I am used to people not treating me right.// It was true. His orphanage had no regard for how to treat someone. They abused kids after all, and he wouldn't really die from it. Not that he cared anyway.

Merlin opened his mouth but closed it again. It was pretty clear that the male was shocked about that reveal.

"First of all, he thanked you, and second of all that's bullshit. None should treat someone wrong because of a disability. You aren't any less worth then I or Arthur are." Merlin's tone was upset and his expression as well. It almost sounded as he went through something like this.

"No problem and that baffoon is right. You aren't any less worth it. You can still do your job so don't worry about it. When you have someone, who tries to force you, come to me or Merlin. We will think of something alright?" All he could do was nod and they continued to work. The rest of the day was exhausting, and his ADHD was thanking him for this. He even managed to use the crossbow and it was as cool as bow and arrows. Even when he was better with bow and arrows.

This impressed everyone and like before he managed to hit straight into the red after the first try. This continued on. He as well met Gwaien, who was really kind and cracked some jokes with him, then there was Lancelot who was a bit more on the quieter of the bunch. Leo was someone who trying to stop Gwaine from flirting with him.

Which he hadn't realized hat the jokes where a flirt attempt until Will and Lancelot butted in. Then there was as well Mordred who seemed to give him a knowing look. Even talking to him in his mind. It was weird but made him relieved as it was easier to communicate with him. There was as well Elyan who had been as well giving Gwaine an earful. All in all, they were an interesting bunch.

It had the kind of chaotic vibe yet family. It felt like a big family. And this was making him feel at ease. Weirdly enough. But his shyness was still there. So that he was pretty much constantly flustered.

He got lucky some food as he had to ask Arthur for something. He explained to him that sometimes he can get lightheaded. But that just because he wasn't wanting to risk passing out.

This went on for a while until they had to get to the meetings. Let's just say the council gave him a not so nice look.

"I need water, Hikaru." His head nodded and he went over. The male gave him a glare. "You always say yes sire. Where is that respect?"

He felt panicked now and tried to get something out, but nothing escaped. No sound nothing. It was just not fair. He couldn't even explain himself.

"With all due respect, Sir Colton, Hikaru is mute. He can't talk so I would advise you to cut it out." Arthur butted in and he gave him a thankful look.

"Nonsense. He is just wanting attention." This was it. The pitcher slipped out of his hands and he felt like crying. Maybe that was why Merlin was now protective in front of him.

"I advise you to stop it. I am the prince of Camelot and this is my manservant you snapped at." By now the water had been spilled around and he sniffed. It was almost impossible not to cry. No one believed him. Even after he showed that he couldn't make a sound.

"Tsk, fine." He cleaned up the water and picked up another pitcher. Filled it up and went in the far corner. This went on for a while and the evening came. He ended up having to share a room with an unknown servant.

Let's just say that this person gave him always dirty looks as well. This was how his first day went and he wasn't sure, to be angry or feel despair.
