"It's good to have you back, Captain," Nate told Sara as they all stood in the MedBay.
Callie had been resting beside the bed that Wally was sitting in, having told the rest of the team that Wally and Ray had worse injuries than her for Gideon to heal. The rest of them had tried to force the girl into the chair once Wally had woken up, but she had refused and since she threatened the assassin card, they all left her to it. Besides, they knew Sara would force her into the seat as soon as she came through.
"Yeah, because evil you is a pain in the ass to fight," Zari admitted, everyone letting a small smile grace their face at the truth behind her words. They all knew Sara had been holding back on them, but they hadn't realised how insane her fighting abilities were - especially when she had demonic powers on her side.
Callie moved towards Sara, the blonde noticing the slight limp in her step from where she had refused to fight back against the possessed Sara. The Captain's eyes furrowed as she shot her wife a concerned glance but she had no time to ask her about it as Wally was already firing off with his list of questions he had formed in his head since waking up.
"I'm still trying to wrap my head around this mess," Wally noted, confused on everything that had just happened in the space of less than 12 hours. Callie turned to look at him, smiling gently at his furrowed eyebrows. "Why would Mallus want to show me Jesse?"
Nate nodded in agreement, raising his hand as he pointed to Wally in agreement. They had all seen some pretty strange hallucinations from the possessed Sara, but it didn't really make sense as to WHY Mallus had even shown them to begin with. "Or me my grandpa?"
"I don't know," Sara admitted, her hand lacing itself with Callie's subconsciously as they all tried to figure out what exactly his play was. "Mallus was trying to recruit me to his side, and using my darkest fears. Maybe that's just what he does, he looks into our hearts, and broadcasts our deepest secrets."
They all looked at each other in a mix of despair and understanding as they tried to all figure out what they truly had been afraid of.
"Huh, that's terrifying," Zari broke the silence, sharing a nod of agreement with Callie at the thought of it. She was right - it was truly terrifying that the demon was about to find out their darkest fears and play them out against them. Callie was beginning to think that they were underestimating this all-mighty demon and that said a lot since they knew fine well what he was capable of.
"Oh I wanna know this, what did he show you?" Ray asked, changing the slight tone of the room as he turned to look at Callie who was the only one to not have shared what the demon had forced her to see. Ava and John had figured it out as soon as they saw she was refusing to fight back, but the rest of the team hadn't been there to witness it.
"Yeah," Nate chimed in, his eyes twinkling slightly as he thought about them getting to hear more information about the usually cut off Callie Merlyn. "What's the big bad ex-assassin afraid of?"
Even Sara turned to look at the girl, herself not aware of what Mallus had shown her when she was possessed by him. She had seen what everyone else had been shown, but it was as if she had gone completely blank when fighting Callie. She assumed it was a part of her brain trying to protect her but the thought still concerned her.
"I assume it was something to do with... your time in.... you know," Ray started to say before he realised how insensitive it was for him to have brought up Callie's 3 year prison that was Earth-X. They all knew it was something that she didn't particularly want to ever speak about minus when she had told them about her scars from the other Earth, but it was the one thing everyone thought of when they said about her biggest fear.
