KAELA

KAELA ROSE. That's me. The 14-year-old girl that is supposedly considered "weird" compared to other girls my age. I try to fit in, Well, I used to try, Now I just do whatever. They like skirts, I like shorts. They like blouses, I like oversized t-shirts, They like makeup, I like, You get the point. I'm not as girly as everyone expects me to be. I'm more, Well, Let's just say I stopped caring about my appearance.

I have one older brother, Brandon, Who definitely got the good looks of the family. He's two years older yet he acts like a second dad to me. Then there's my little sister, Emily, Who's barely 9 months old. She's such an angel. My mom's name is Elizabeth, Everyone calls her Beth or Liz though. My dad's name is Richard, He goes by Rich. Lastly, Best for last, We have one golden retriever puppy, named Nala.

Anyways, That's all about me. Nothing extremely special or extraordinary that would intrigue you all, sadly. Something about me that I tend to embrace a lot is that I love baseball, Gotta root for the home team, Dodgers. My brother plays baseball, But he doesn't plan on going far enough to the majors.

Nala laid down on my chest and soundly slept as I read a book. It was about a mystery or something. I got it from my brother's room while I was bored. I flip through the pages, skimming each one quickly. He does this, She finds out, She tells her friend, blah blah blah. This book was already so predictable already and I didn't even read half of it.

I try to wake Nala up in the calmest way possible, but she ended up jumping out of freight. I stood up from the couch and stretched, My bones cracked like crazy, but it felt oddly very good. Nala sat there patiently, Looking at me as her tongue stuck out and her tail wagging. "Hi, pretty girl." I cooed as I cupped her nose and planted soft kisses. She's literally the second baby of the family, She definitely gets way more attention than I do, which I don't blame them for. Nala is like a big ball of fluff that was brought to life.

I hummed, "You look bored. How about we go in a walk?"

As if she heard me perfectly, She barked and got up from her position. I smiled and went to go change into more proper attire, jean shorts, and a white t-shirt. Nala was already standing by the rack with her leash, I clipped her collar and called out to my mom.

"Mom? I'm going to take Nala for a walk!"

"Okay honey! Be careful!"

We walked outside and I carefully closed the door. Mom hates it when people bang it, She says it "ruins her mojo" or some weird stuff like that. Yeah, I don't know either, but It's whatever.

We walked around the block a couple of times, Said hello to a couple of neighbors here and there, and stopped to let some kids pet Nala, which she deeply enjoyed. As we were rounding the sidewalk, entering the shops, I get lightly pushed to the side. It wasn't hard, But it was enough to make me stumble a bit. A group of kids followed the leader, About 8 of them, 9 in total.

Nala jerked along with me and she whimpers at the sudden and harsh tug on her collar wrapped around her neck. I brush my hair back and bent down to her. I cursed under my breath and fix it immediately. "Awe, I'm sorry Nala," I mumbled as I take the tangled fur out.

"Oh shit, I'm sorry. You okay?" The boy who bumped into me asked.

I look up and saw the boy standing there, rubbing his neck. He gritted his teeth and pressed his lips tightly together. I stood to his level and nodded my head. As I caught his gaze, He immediately looked down. "Yeah, I'm fine," I tell him. The group of boys behind him looked at me, then gazed down at Nala.

"Ah, I'm really sorry, Cute dog by the way."

I smiled, "I'm fine, Really. Do you wanna pet her? Her name's Nala. She doesn't bite don't worry."
