~Correction~

Nature is an odd, mysterious creature, no?
Makes our thoughts whip around too and fro.
Erases dreams, yet creates them.
Experiencing it all from our little secluded huts along the sidelines
Of the battlefield that is life, the world around us.

Sometimes I stop and wonder
"Is nature a conscious being?", I ponder.
Deep in thought I try to see,
Try to make out the forbidden outline of Flora and Fauna,
Yet it itself does not want to be seen, discovered.

Over and over, turmoil tossing and turning in the world.
Endless destruction, countless lives lost.
This time, our friends Flora and Fauna
Watching helpless from the sidelines.
Yearning for a change, to help, some edification, but none came.

Suddenly, an idea comes to mind.
Let us correct this issue ourselves.
And so nature did, and like scolded children, we huddled down in sorrow.
Going through more loss is painful for everyone, they think.
But sometimes, deeds just have to be done.

Nature has long lines of code, and within the code, our brains function.
Learning, growing, maturing,
Relearning, revisiting, mourning.
Because of this, history will repeat, replay itself, like a broken record.
And no matter what happens, no matter what is done, nothing can stop the tracks of time.
Not even our once good friends, Miss Flora and Fauna.

And so with our minds,
Flora and Fauna, with nature, have matured,
Grown and developed, learned, and relearned.
Yet they still sit within us, and around us, watching from the sidelines of the endless war that is life.
Starting timelines, and ending timelines.
Inflicting grief, and death, and sorrow on our minds.
Helping us realize the crimes we have committed against our once wonderful friends.
Hoping that maybe someday there will be a change, if not now, soon.
Hoping that maybe this will finally be the time that the war of life,
the arms race of each and against each and every one of our minds
Will come to a close.

Because nature always has a way of correcting itself.
And maybe this punishment, this suffering,
This horrific grief, mourning and sorrow,
Isn't nature trying to retaliate.
It is just nature, and our forever friends,
Trying to give us another chance,
To finally correct ourselves for once.

Hello, and welcome to my first ever book of poems! This is terrifying for me, because I don't share my work that often, and now a LOT of people can see it! If you want to vote you can, but if you don't thats fine! I just hope that my work inspires people, and that it can be spread for people to enjoy. Thanks for listening to my short little anxious TED talk, and have a great rest of your day!
