"What happened?" Peeta asks. "Thresh. He let me go though, because of Rue." Peeta looks worried, but relieved. "Don't try something like that again." He begs her. "I won't, I promise." She kisses his lips. She injects the medicine she got from the feast into his arm. Katniss goes hunting. She shoots a rabbit. Suddenly, she hears rustling leaves. Marvel. She shoots an arrow, but he dodges it. He tackles her. "I never got to tell her I loved her. Now she's gone. All because of you!" The light in his eyes was gone. It left when she did. That she, was Glimmer. He raised a knife to her throat. In a panic, Katniss grabbed her knife and stabbed it right into his chest. He fell to the ground. "I tried to win for her, I really did. I'm sorry." His cannon fires. Katniss was horrified. She had just killed someone. Again. She runs back into the cave with the rabbit. She tries to hold in her tears, but Peeta can tell something is wrong. He asked her what happened and she told him everything. "It's okay." She still didn't feel better about it. She sobbed as Peeta held her in his arms. He rubs her back in an attempt to comfort her. She calms down and skins the rabbit. She makes a fire in the cave, and quickly cooks the rabbit before putting it out. They eat a few pieces of rabbit together, and she puts the rest away. She lays down with him, her head resting on his chest, and they fall asleep. When they woke up the next morning Peeta's leg was almost totally healed. "Peeta! Your Leg!" He looked surprised. "We can go out together now!" They ran out of the cave and decided to separate for a while. Peeta was going to collect berries, while Katniss did some more hunting. Katniss walked around the woods searching for an animal to kill when suddenly, she heard a cannon. She yelled for Peeta. No answer. She ran in the direction she came from and soon bumped into him. "Peeta! I thought you were dead!" He held her in his arms and said everything was okay. She noticed Peeta had picked some berries. Nightlock. She slapped them out of his hand. "Katniss what are you doing?" "Those are Nightlock berries. You'd be dead before they got to your stomach!" He looked shocked. Peeta led Katniss to where he was keeping the berries. There was Foxface. Laying there. Dead. The cannon they heard wasn't Peeta's. It was hers.
