For those of you whom have stuck with this story so far, I am honored to say thank you. I really am glad to see that so many people have read it. So here is the next chapter in the story. Sorry it took me so long to write, I hadn’t really been in the mode.

Chapter 3

Eilstina awoke alarmingly; she quickly glanced around for intruders. After several seconds of surveillance, she proclaimed there to be no threat. She brought her legs to her chest, and began to rock back and forth. Her dream had been terrible, never had she dreamed such an awful dream. In her dream she had lost everything; her parents were already dead, but to dream of losing her sister and her life time friend. That was just something she could imagine without going insane. Then there was Vicven, how easily she had fallen for him, yet would never admit it to him. How could I, she asked herself, what if he doesn’t like me? More question of this nature roamed through her head. She felt as if Vicven had been her friend since birth. Letting the depressing thoughts sink from her mind, she hadn’t checked to see the time yet. Peering out of the tent she noticed it was still early in the morning and decided to try to sleep some more. Placing her head back down on the pillow and moving ever so closely to Vicven, she drifted deep into sleep forgetting her dreaded dream.

The light slipped through the flap of the tent shining itself in Eilstina eye. Eilstina arose from her position; yawning and stretching she slipped out of the tent. The camp site was, well the camp wasn’t there, completely barren. Vicven had made short work of the camp and was now sorting through his collection of weapons. Eilstina still part asleep went and sat on log by the fire, it couldn’t be more than six in the morning. She looked over at Vicven whom seemed obsessed with that damn box of weapons.

“Good Morning. Did you sleep well?” She asked after several minutes. Vicven rummaged through the box a few more times taking several weapons out, that all looked in fine condition.

“Morning, I slept fine. How did you sleep? I felt you wake up last night, is everything ok.” Vicven despite his outside layer of toughness was really sweet on the inside. You just got to know how to work men and Eilstina new exactly how to work men.

“Yeah, honestly, I can’t remember what it was about.” She chuckled. “Guess that how life works.” She got up and walked to where they stored the hog meat. There was just enough left for two people. Good she thought meaning no one would go hungry. She quickly prepared the food, and gave a portion to Vicven, who now rested by the travelers bags.

Vicven finished and began to take down the tent. Upon finishing he looked at the tent, all rolled up and neat. It hadn’t been taken down in years; it looked so unfamiliar rolled up. He quickly pushed the thought out of his mind.

“Well are you ready we have quite a journey ahead of us. I would like to get it started.” He said as he made the final adjust mints too the travelers bag. Eilstina took one last look around this place had been her home for month, but like all other things not everything is permanent.

“Yes I’m ready. What do you need me to do?” She asked as she looked at him. He leaned over and picked up the travelers bag. Was he really going to make her carry it?

“I need you to carry this and these three weapons. I will have my hands full carrying the crate of weapons.” As he saw her expression about lugging the traveler’s bag he added,

“Don’t worry it’s not heavy at all, five pounds at the most.” The statement gave her an amazing relief, she had no intention of wearing herself out, yet she felt bad for Vicven who was lugging the crate.

As the made their way towards town, which would take them little under an hour, they remained silent. They enjoyed the forest, trying to soak up it feeling before the left it for good. The beautiful forest trees blooming around them, the wild flowers dancing in the wind brought them happiness. It truly was a sight for legends. The journey seemed to fly; for once they looked in front of them again the first house was almost upon them.
