Panic was written all over Jieun's face as she watched his hands bled.
"Are you okay? Oh my gosh!" She rummaged through her small bag, trying to find something to stop the blood from coming out. She felt relieved when she saw a handkerchief inside. She sat beside him, not minding how close they are now.
Pulling both of his hands that's covered in blood, she inspected how deep the wounds are. She saw that his other hand is fine so she wrapped the handkerchief on his right hand instead.
Jungkook was just intently watching her. He memorized her soft moves, her soft hair that's brushing through his face, and her fragrance that smells like sweet peaches. He can't believe that she's this close to him. It all happened too fast.
As she finished wrapping the cloth on his fist, she turned to him, making her gasp. His face is only an inch from hers. She gulped, slowly backing away from him.
Jungkook saw how her face turned red. She cleared her throat and went on his side to sit.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Thank you."
An awkward silence filled the whole place. Jieun is not that good in starting conversations so she just went silent, waiting for him to talk but 10 minutes had already passed and he still hasn't said anything.
"Uhmm. I just want to thank you for what you did last night."
There. She finally said it. The moment she saw him at the event awhile ago, she's been itching to talk to him.
Jungkook, on the other hand was amused how she remembered what he did last night.
"You should be careful next time. Don't go alone to that place again."
"Hm. Yeah. I usually don't go to clubs anyways and I was actually with my friends but I lost sight of them."
Jungkook didn't know what to say next as he forgot all the words from the alphabet. He can't believe that they're actually having a conversation right now.
"You're not much of a talker, are you?" Jieun said. He glanced at her, only to see that shy smile again, "Me neither."
She extended her arm on him.
"I'm Jieun, by the way."
I know. He thought.
"Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook." He reached for her hand. And for the first time, he smiled. Not the usual smile he shows but a genuine smile that only appears once in a blue moon.
He felt how warm and soft her hand is. It's been ages since he felt this kind of warmth. It feels so nice. He doesn't want it to end but he's the first one to take his hand back.
"You look familiar. I think I saw you somewhere before. Have we met each other before?"
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders as he watched her lips move. Good thing Jieun still doesn't notice the way this guy stares at her.
"But I'm pretty sure I did."
Jieun stood up and admire the beautiful scenery in front of her. She's amazed that a place like this actually exist. She only sees this kind of view on movies.
"Wow. It's so beautiful."
Jungkook wanted to answer, You're more beautiful than anything else here.
He cleared his throat and stood up to join her.
"It's getting dark. You should go back."
Jieun frowned at him. She just got here. Did he own this place? Or he just wants to see this view all by himself?
