Chapter 14: Love Maze

"Huh?"

Is he being serious?

"Teach me how to love, Jieun."

"W-What do you mean?"

"I've never been in love. And so do you. We can help each other." Jieun still can't believe what she's hearing. "I can help you with your song writing and you can help me..." He paused, thinking of what to say next,"... feed my curiosity."

Jungkook's last sentence made Jieun laugh.

"You can't just teach someone how to love, Jungkook. It's not some kind of lesson that you memorize and study overnight to pass. It's an emotion. And emotions are meant to be felt."

"Teach me those emotions then."

He's desperate. Jeon Jungkook has become desperate. He wanted her. So bad. This is the fastest way to get her closer to him. Even if it's against his values, he's willing to cross it. Just for her.

Jieun is already on the verge of saying yes. The Jungkook in front of her right now looks so desperate. His pleading eyes are talking to her.

The cool and charismatic Jungkook from a while ago and the Jungkook who looks so adorable in front of her right now are different persons.

She wants to say yes. She wants to get to know him more.

"How can you help me if you have never been in love too? And besides, I can't teach you in just less than a month."

"Then teach me until I learn." He shot his eyebrows up.

Jieun chuckled. "And how long is that gonna take?"

Forever? So you can stay by my side until that time.

"I don't know. It depends on your teaching skills."

"What's in it for me then? After I finish my song, that's it."

"I'll grant you one wish."

"Really? As in anything?"

He nodded. "Anything."

She extended her arms to him, offering him a handshake. "Okay, deal."

"Deal." He accepted her hand shake and smiled. "When do we start?"

"Now."

Jieun doesn't really know what she's doing. Why did she accept his request?

"How do you know when you're in love?"

"You know, love isn't just one feeling. It can range from feeling exhilarated to feeling peaceful. That's why it's a complicated feeling."

"Uh huh."

"Okay, based from what I heard from my friends, love fills you with intense, overwhelmingly happy, fulfilling emotions or whatever you call it, leaving you feeling like a giant dose of joy just hit you straight in the brain."

"That's..." He chuckled. "...intense. But I don't get it."

Jieun sighed. "Hmm. How do I say this." She rested her arms on the table, thinking seriously.

Jungkook stared at her as she get lost in her own thoughts. Then he felt something. What's wrong with my heart?

"Let's say it this way. For example, you saw someone. Just imagine that it's---" Jieun hesitated, "---that it's me." She cleared her throat. "Whenever you see me, you feel excited and giddy inside. It's like when you're with me, you forget everything around you. You only focus on that person solely."
