"Are you sure about this, Jieun?

Jieun stared at her reflection in the mirror while talking to herself. She's been contemplating about her decision to go out with him. Things happened too fast. One minute ago they're just talking, and now they're going out together.

"Why am I making this a big deal? It's not like it's a date or something---" Her eyes widened. "Or maybe it is? Gosh--- I was the one who asked him..."

She sat on her bed and stared at the wall. She's worried that Jungkook might think that she's an easy girl for asking him to go out.

"Ugh! Whatever."

Jieun picked up her phone and went to the mirror to check her appearance one last time. She wanted to laugh at herself. She didn't want it to be a date but she's the one here who made an effort to look nice.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting."

Jungkook looked up at her and smiled. He was stunned by her appearance. She's wearing a simple blue sweater and denim pants. She looks stunning whatever she wears.

"Mom! We'll just go out for a bit!"

Mrs. Lee came rushing in, holding another tray of her tea. Jieun is starting to feel embarrassed for her mom. She's wondering what's going on Jungkook's mind right now.

Jieun went to her mom and whispered, "Mom? What are you doing?"

Ignoring Jieun, Mrs. Lee came to Jungkook. "Take care of my daughter, okay?"

Jungkook gave her a thumbs up that made Jieun's jaw dropped in disbelief. She didn't know what to react. Is this really her mom? She's expecting her to nag at her and tell her endless lectures.

Mrs. Lee went back to Jieun, eyeing her from head to toe, "What are you wearing? You should be wearing something like what Jennie gave---"

Cutting her mom off, "Bye, mom. Love you." Jieun gestured Jungkook to follow her outside, which he gladly did. She can still hear her mom telling Jungkook, "Goodbye! Come visit again, okay?"

"I'm sorry, Jungkook. My mom can be too much, sometimes."

They walked outside their gate together. "You're mom is really kind, though. I just wished my mom was like her too." Jieun didn't clearly hear his last sentence. But she saw a hint of sadness in his eyes.

"What did you say?"

"Oh, nothing. Where should we go?"

Jieun saw his expression turned into a happy one. "Oh right. There's a nearby cafe over here. We can walk---"

"I brought my car."

Jungkook guided her into his car. He even opened the door for her, which he never did to other girls.

A mixture of warm cinnamon and mint citrus scent welcomed Jieun. His car smells so much like him. It's addicting.

She put on her seat belt while waiting for Jungkook. "Just go straight on that alley." Jungkook nodded and started the engine. The car ride was short and peaceful. None of them talked during the whole ride.

They reached the cafe in no time and immediately ordered before they sat on the table near the window.

"Coffee tastes bitter though." Jungkook is trying to open up about the topic awhile ago.

"Yeah but it's coffee. No one says no to coffee." They both chuckled.

Jieun watched how Jungkook's eyes crinkle whenever he smiled. She just noticed now how manly he looks with his black polo shirt with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, showing his magnificent tattooed arms. She can't deny how hot he looks right now.
