Byakuya's POV

We finally arrived to Makoto's place. Such a commoners home. Makoto was frozen in place. "Hey, it's ok we will be out of there as quick as possible." I said trying to reassure him.
He nodded a fished out a key from out of his pocket. "My parents should be out by now..." he said while unlocking the door. He walked in and I followed. It's smells like alcohol and cigarettes...
I noticed there were many holes in the wall. "Makoto, how did these holes form."
I said while running my hand against the wall. "Sometimes my parents would throw glass bottles of b-beer at my head but they would miss and hit the w-wall..." he said trying to hold back his tears. That explains the scent of alcohol.
"Don't worry they won't do it ever again."
He nodded and brought me up to his room.

I immediately saw that there was almost nothing there except a bed and a broken desk.
There wasn't much evidence in his room except for the lack of items.
We went back downstairs. We went inside what I assumed was the kitchen. There was glass shards on the floor that hadn't been cleaned up and at least a dozen packs of beer. What type of household is this? You can't even call this a "home".
I could tell Makoto didn't want to be here any longer so I gathered up the evidence we had and left as quickly as possible.

The rest of the walk back to my house was completely silent the whole way.
By the time we arrived it was 6 pm. I unlocked the front door and we went inside.
"Dinner will be ready by 7:30 if you need anything then I'll be in my room"
He nodded and walked off into his room. I need to tell the police. I might need to talk to Kirigiri  about this. I'll just need Makotos permission.

I already figured out why I was being nice to Makoto. I normally wouldn't care About anything or anyone. Especially lowly commoners. However Makoto was different. He sparked something inside me. Even if I didn't want to admit it, I really like him.

A lot.
