It was the day of the trial. It started in exactly one hour. Makoto wasn't ready for it at all. He had said he wanted it as soon as possible but he wasn't so sure now. He wasn't sure about anything anymore. He was scared that his parents would win the trial and Makoto would be forced to stay back at home. That would not end well.
Makoto wanted to ask Byakuya to stay with him through out the duration of the trial but he didn't want to cause any problems to him. He had done so much to help after all.

His nervousness only got worse so he ended up asking Byakuya anyway.
He trudged over to Byakuya's room and knocked on the door. Byakuya opened it. "Makoto? Do you need anything." He said while pushing his glasses up. Makoto nodded. "I just wanted to a-ask...can you s-stay with m-me during the t-trial?"
"I don't want to be a-alone with t-them." I
"Of course I'll stay with you Makoto."
Makoto looked up at Byakuya and smiled. "Thank y-you"

Time Skip To Trial.

Makoto and Byakuya walked into the large building. They were greeted by Kyoko. "Hello." Kyoko said with her usual calm expression. Byakuya nodded and Makoto gave a quick hi back. Makoto looked around for his parents. Thankfully, they weren't here yet.

Makoto, Byakuya and Kyoko sat down in the lobby, waiting for the trial to start. Makoto looked around. The room was quite bland. The white walls and feeling of emptiness made him more nervous. Byakuya noticed Makoto's nervousness and places his hand on Makoto's shoulder. Makoto looked up at Byakuya. Byakuya looked at Makoto with a small smile on his face, trying his best to comfort him. Makoto stared at Byakuya and smiled back. He felt more confident now.

They soon heard a knock at the door. Kyoko got up to open it. Komaru and Toko stood there. "Hey!" Komaru greeted with her usual happiness, though this time there was a hint of nervousness in her voice. Toko gave a quick nod. Komaru grabbed Toko's hand and they sat back down with us.

"So Makoto, how are you feeling?" Komaru asked to break the silence. "I'm good, just a bit nervous." Makoto replied. Komaru nodded and looked down at the ground.

After awhile of silence they heard noises coming from outside.

"lets us go we didn't do anything!"

"it was all a prank!"

Makoto instantly knew who the voices belonged to. Without thinking, he grabbed onto Byakuya's arm. Byakuya didn't say anything. He also could assume who those voices belonged too. Makoto desperately hoped that they wouldn't be put in the same room as him. Thankfully the voices faded away.

After about five minutes, someone wearing a suit came in. Kyoko nodded at us as she got up to follow the man.

It was time for the trial.
