Pain lasts Longer than love (Naegami)

Chapter 25

Makoto's POV

The darkness around me started to clear.
I slowly opened my eyes. I noticed the clear white ceiling along with a blinding light that flashed into my eyes.
I heard voices all around me. What are they saying?

I heard someone faintly call my name. "Naegi?" A deep, sophisticated voice called out.

I suddenly snapped out of it. "H-huh?" I spoke out.
"Oh good your awake." Then person, who I was sure was a doctor due to his white clothing. I looked around the room and noticed it was just us. "W-What happened?" I asked, looking back at the doctor. "You passed out, and a couple of you classmates brought you here." He responded. "I was informed of what happened before you passed out, I'm really sorry for your loss."

I then remembered what happened I class. Sayaka... My eyes started to well up. I looked away quickly and stared at the wall to my left. I still can't believe she's gone. I've spent all my life with her. She can't be dead.......

"Would you like your classmates to visit you now? they are waiting in the lobby." The doctor said, sensing my unease.

I nodded. "Very well." He said and left the room.

Right after 4 people that he knew very well arrived.

Aoi

Kyoko

Byakuya

and Mukuro?

"Makoto!" Aoi yelled, running over to me and hugging me. The rest walked around the hospital bed.     "Makoto I'm glad your ok!" She said, letting go of me and taking a step back.

"Mukuro? Why are you here?" I asked.
It wasn't that I didn't want her to be there. I was just confused...
She stood in the corner of the room, her hands behind her back with a solemn expression. "I don't really know...you were her childhood friend right?" She asked. I nodded, sadly. She sighed and looked away. Ok...not really an answer but I'll take it. 

I then noticed Byakuya was silent. "Byakuya are you ok?" I asked. He shook his head.
Aoi noticed this and her eyes widened.
"We h-have to tell him right?" She asked shakily.
Huh?
"What? Is there something going on?" I asked glancing back and forward between the two.
All three of them nodded.
"You said you were really close to Sayaka... right?" Mukuro spoke up.
"I...was."
"While you were asleep the doctor came in and told us the reason why you passed out after hearing what happened." She said, playing with her hair. Aoi looked down sadly. "The doctor said it wouldn't last though!"

What won't last? What's wrong?!

Byakuya glared at the two girls. "Just tell him! He looks really confused right now."

Aoi walked back up to me and put a hand one my shoulder.

"You contracted this thing called...broken heart syndrome..." She said quietly.
What the hell is that?!
"It won't last long, but there will be periods of stuff like depression and you might pass out from thinking to much." Mukuro continued.
Why...I'm really confused. I guess I really must miss Sayaka...

But I don't feel like crying.
