Chapter 8

Makoto's POV

The trial is tomorrow. I don't want to see them again. What if they manage to kill me before it starts. I heard Komaru has to go as well. For evidence I suppose. Byakuya has been overwhelmingly nice to me and I still don't know why. I don't deserve him. I feel like I'm taking him for granted. He's helped me through so much. It's almost like I need him to be around me to feel safe.
While I was thinking I heard a knock on my door. "Come in" I said without a thought. It was Byakuya, he sat down next to me and asked if I was alright. I answered with a simple "yes". He nodded. "I can tell your nervous about the trial."
I stared at him how did he know? I turned my head away. "Makoto...I won't let them come for you."
I stared at him. "But w-what If t-they manage to g-get away..."
Byakuya shook his head. "They won't."
Without thinking a wrapped my hands around Byakuya, pulling him into to a tight hug. Surprisingly, he hugged back. They stayed like that for awhile, before Byakuya had to go and work. That definitely felt reassuring.
I grabbed my phone, Byakuya had already taken pictures of what my parents sent me and then blocked the contacts of them both. I saw a few missed messages from Komaru. ( Komaru autocorrected to Komaeda lol). I opened them.

K: Hey Makoto!
K: I heard your getting a trial!
K: That's good...
K:I get to bring Toko with me but for some reason she seems more nervous than I am.

M: I think I'm the one who's supposed to be nervous.
K: I guess so...
K: Hey I have a question
M: what is it?
K: are you dating Byakuya?
M: What?! No!
K: wait your not?!
M: of course were not!
K: But do you like him that way?
M: I don't know...
K: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
M: what's with the Lenny face Komaru!!
K: I think you like him!
M: I don't.
K: tsundere.
M: what
K: your a tsundere.
M: I hate you
K: anyway I have to go! See you at the trial!~
M: Bye...

I shut off my phone and stared at the ceiling. Was Komaru right? Did I like Byakuya?

I probably do.

I can not tell you how many times Komaru autocorrected to Komaeda. Nagito isn't even in this story.
