Matthew's POV

"Happy Birthday!"

We all screamed as we threw confetti around the room when the two Italians walked in. It is currently March 17th and most importantly Lovino and Feliciano's birthdays. They are now turning 23. The two of them looked at us in pure shock, not suspecting that first thing in the morning. Feliciano was the first one who ran up to us and gave us a big group hug. "Thank you guys so much!" Feliciano yelled as he was immediately interested in the huge cake.

Lovino soon got what was going on and smiled a rare smile as he hesitantly hugged us all. "I actually forgot today was our birthday," he muttered as I giggled a bit. Although it took a lot of begging (Mostly Antonio and Gilbert who begged Ludwig), we were allowed to eat cake for breakfast. The cake was decorated nicely with sugary roses, dandelions, lavenders and all the flowers you can imagine. The cake itself was chocolate flavored.

We all took a slice as we ate it while watching tv (Again Antonio and Gilbert had to beg Ludwig for it). We were planning on taking the day off since well Ludwig the alpha wanted to spend it with his Luna and he didn't want us to work while he did nothing so he gave us all off. Not that I really do anything. Okay well I try to help Gilbert with his work since I spent a lot of my time around alphas so I picked up a few things.

Currently Ludwig and Feliciano were cuddling on the couch along with Gilbert and I. Antonio and Lovino had built themselves a small pillow bed which they were now cuddling on. Kiku was choosing the movies so he was on a separate chair closest to the tv. Eliza was on the other couch lying down and using her arm as a pillow.

I notice her slight discomfort so I handed her the pillow I was using. She was surprised but thanked me resting her head on it. Gilbert gave me a questioning look as I smiled at him resting my head on his chest. I've gotten a lot more comfortable, I'm still shy and collected but I was comfortable cuddling Gilbert without asking, no longer referring to people as mister and most importantly speaking my mind. I knew what I can say and can't say.

I also as promised got lessons from Ludwig and Gilbert on how to be a wolf and what it's actually like to be a wolf. How mates work and how pack rankings work. They also gave me more information about the moon goddess who chooses mates. They explained if a wolf cheats on their mate and gets a child, the child and the parents will automatically become rogues, they aren't killed just kicked out of the pack. Okay that's the more modern reasoning, they used to be killed seeing as they were wrongfully cheating on their mates. They gave me history about their pack as well. That sounds like a whole lot of information to take in now but honestly they were taking it slow on me, letting me ask questions and repeating the things I forget about or have trouble with.

Anyway back to the story. Gilbert was surprised by my sudden clinginess but didn't mind as he held me close, smoothing my hair a bit. I was about to fall asleep just like that in the arms of my mate but of course that was interrupted. "Matthew when is your birthday?" Antonio asked that but it seemed as if everyone was wondering the same. "I really don't know," I answer honestly looking down sadly. "Matthew do you know how old you are?" Ludwig asked this as I thought for a while. "Well I got into my old pack at 17 and I stayed there for 5 years. I'm about 22 now...I think... Or I'm 21 turning 22," I tried to remember but honestly I haven't celebrated much less thought about it the last 5 years.

"You stayed with that bastard for 5 years...?" Gilbert asked this looking down sad, probably blaming himself for my pain. I shake my head. "No no no! Okay well yes I did stay there for 5 years but was only abused 3 out of those years," I explained as I held his hand, rubbing my thumb over his hand. He sighed but smiled at him holding me close. I smiled back and hug him. "Do you have a suspicion when your birthday is?" Lovino asked as I thought for a while. "June...July...January... No no it was definitely early July or late June," I explained trying to think. Lovino nodded as we continued to watch movies and anime the entire day.
