The sun beat down against your skin, making you squirm atop of your towel, trying to alleviate the heat. You blocked the light from your eyes with your palm, glancing over to your right, eyes placed on the chocolate-brown haired boy who laid on his own respective towel also.

His arms folded upward as his hands supported his neck, eyes squinting and lips parted. It looked like he was sleeping, but he wasn't; just relaxing. Joseph looked so peaceful, it made you smile a bit.

"Oi, Jojo, you ready to go for another dip? I'm getting overheated." You slapped his shoulder to grab his attention.

He whined. "Oh come on! I'm comfortable here."

"I don't wanna go in alone!" Grumbling, you sat up straight and awaited a response, but Joseph didn't say anything, instead he only fake snored. "Whatever! Screw you, Joseph."

He chucked under his breath and peeked at you with squinted eyes, a cheeky smile on his face. You blew a raspberry at him and rolled your eyes, to which he swatted at you with his hand.

You rose to your feet at tiptoed your way across the stretch of grass, sitting on the ground, you splashed your feet around in the large, crystal-clear pond. "I guess I'll just swim all by myself, then!." You very loudly, publicly announced. You could hear Joseph mocking you in a high-pitch tone from his spot on his towel. This made you giggle, and you slowly hoisted yourself down into the cool water til your feet touched the bottom.

You swam around for a bit, chilling your body down. Your skin wasn't too inflamed, so you hoped you'd be able to hang out at the swimming-hole with Joseph a bit longer. You enjoyed these types of gatherings with him; of course just being around him was fun, he was a humorous man, but being out and doing things with him gave you a whole different type of satisfaction and enjoyment.

You ran your fingers through your wet locks and perched yourself up against the edge of the ground after you had completed a few laps. You eyed the brunette up from a distance. He laid in the same position, not making any movements, not even twitching his nose or scratching his chin. It was odd. Ontop of that, he was awful quiet today, and if you knew anything about Joseph Joestar; he was never quiet. He had a loud-mouth and always had something to say whether it made sense or not, that was just who he was.

You furrowed your brows in confusion. Something was off. You pulled yourself up out of the water and trotted over to him, placing yourself on your towel adjacent from him.

"Jojo, are you okay?." You murmured, leaning near him.

"I'm fine, (Y/n)." He mumbled. "But you're strange today, you sure you're fine?."

"Just thinking." He gave an exasperated sigh, rubbing his temples.

"About?."

"Alot of things." He spoke bluntly, unwilling, not even hinting at what the issue was.

"Like what, Joseph? You can talk to me." You gave a comforting smile, inclining toward him enough to twist tuffles of his hair into curls around your finger.

"Just, I don't know," He started off. "I want a girl, a girlfriend, y'know?."

"Oh." Was all you could think to say. You were a tad shocked by what he had said- you never expected that to be the reason his spirits were so low.

"I mean, my Granny always tells me stories of her and my grandfather before he passed and I like listening and all, its just-," He paused, a sheepish look in his eyes. "I want something like that, what they had."

"That's very sweet." You beamed at him. It warmed your heart to hear him speak like that.

"Ah, shut your mouth." Joseph's face went crimson, and he moved to his buttox, sitting slouched. You followed and sat up as well.

A radiation of confidence shimmered within you briefly, and you knew to take the chance while you had it. "You know, Jojo, I think I might be able to help."

"Hmm? What'dya mean?." He cocked a thick brow.

"Well, i mean, maybe-" You cut yourself off, shaking your head, knowing you'd never find the right words. Joseph looked at you in confusion.

It's now or never, you thought.

You moved in closely unto him and gingerly pressed your lips against his. You lingered for a few seconds, but not too long for a first kiss. After you parted Joseph's mouth was left agape. He was astonished, but there was a twinkle in his eye that confirmed it all made sense.

"Wow, give a guy a warning next time, will you?."

"Who says there will be a next time, Joestar?."

"Me, idiot." He smirked devilishly and leaned in once more, this time the kiss lasted for a tad longer than it should've. Your faces were both beet red and hearts fluttering.

Once you regained yourself, you interlocked your palm with his and rested your head against his bare shoulder.

"We will have what your grandparents had, Joseph. I promise."
