Ericka gasped and sat up on the floor. She was still alive, Pegasus hadn't killed her. The floor was still covered with blood, but it was starting to soak into it, filling the room with a interesting aroma. She saw Pegasus curled into a ball on the other side of the room, and it sounded like she was crying. Ericka crawled over to her and place a hand onto her shoulder. Pegasus looked up at her and Ericka saw that she had no longer grey eyes, but they were a dull blue instead. "I'm sorry." Pegasus said in such a soft voice it was almost inaudible. Ericka didn't reply, she just looked down at her lap when she saw a gold flake pass her face. She looked at Pegasus's legs and saw they were turning into dust. Pegasus glanced at her with grateful eyes, and grabbed one of her bloodied hands. Neither of them said anything as Pegasus continued to turn to dust little by little. "You helped me..now i'll help you." Pegasus managed to say right before completely turning into dust and floating out of a window. Ericka stood up and looked over at the desk. The list with the names was on it. Pegasus's name was sitting at the top of the list was slowly disappearing. More names were also slowly fading as well. One name was coming back onto the list and it started with a C. She then shoved the list into her pocket and jumped out of the nearest window. She ran through the clearing, seeing multiple slumped shapes in the grass, but she didn't stop to find out who the shapes were. She saw Nicholas hiding behind a tree in a small thicket, peeking out as if he was looking for something. He saw her and started to wave his arms. She waved back and walked up to him.
"There is something...I need to tell you." He said in a small voice.
"I already know." She said sadly, walking into the thicket and seeing the others in there as well. Mavis and Johnny had met up with them and were there as well. None of them were saying anything, they were just sitting in silence looking at Drac's limp body propped up against the tree. She sat next to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. She put her face on his shoulder and started to cry. His body was as cold as ice, but she didn't care. Nicholas sat next to her and put his arms around her, then Zoey did the same, then Tiffany, and they all got into it. Ericka continued to cry softly, when she felt something shift next to her. She froze and tried to stop crying. She sat up and broke the hug.
"What is it?" Nicholas asked. He looked at what she was looking at and saw what she saw. Something was moving underneath Drac's eyelids. Drac twitched his hands slightly and cracked one of his eyes open. He let out a loud groan and tilted his head to look at them.
"YOUR ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!" Ericka shrieked at the top of her lungs, locking her arms and legs around him, making him fall sideways onto the dirt.
"Did I die?" He asked, muffled by Ericka's shirt in his face. They did eventually get Ericka off of him, but then Tiffany latched onto him along with Nicholas. They also explained everything that happened, but they didn't know how he came back to life.
"Do you have nine lives?" Tiffany asked her father.
"I'm not a cat," He said, "but there has to be a reasonable explanation for this." Ericka was thinking about the words Pegasus had said to her right before vanishing, You helped me..now i'll help you.
"I think Pegasus brought you back to life." Ericka said to them.
"Why would she do that?" Drac asked.
They didn't have time to answer, a loud furious "NOO!!" sounded from the center of camp. They peeked out of the thicket to see Captain standing in the middle of the camp, looking infuriated. He saw them staring at them and started to run over to them, "YOU RUINED MY CHANCE!!!" he screamed.
"OK WE GOTTA GO!" Drac said, standing up carefully and getting everyone out of the thicket. They rushed in the direction of the parking lot and Anthony stopped Tiffany and handed her something before rushing off in the opposite direction. She didn't have time to look at it as Captain got closer to them. Ericka was at the back of the group, making sure that nobody was going to be left behind and she snuck a peek at the list that she had shoved in her pocket. She saw that all of the names except for Captain were gone. She gave it a tug and it ripped slightly. She then shredded it into pieces and was about to stop on them, when she saw something black fading onto the paper. She looked at the black mark and saw that there were more and more of them appearing on the paper. She then realized that they were names. She dropped the sliver of the paper and continued to run after her family. She was almost at the forest surrounding the parking lot when she heard singing. She looked to the right and on the porch of the counselor's cabin were around five children around the ages of 10-15. And they were singing along with what looked like a middle aged cowboy sitting in a rocking chair. He noticed Ericka staring at him and gave her a cheeky grin. He pulled out a piece of paper and waved it at her. It had the names of the children on it. The cycle never ends! He said to her, Ever. She ran into the forest and They saw Zoey's minivan sitting in the parking lot and Zoey threw the door open,
"GO! GO! GO!" She yelled as they filed into the car as quickly as possible. Zoey got the car started and floored the pedal. Nicholas looked out of the back window and saw Captain looked at them from the parking lot with a face of rage. They were all panting for breath and they did a head count, "That's everyone." Zoey said as they sped down the road. They stayed quiet most of the way home, still shocked that they made it out alive. About a hour down the road, Nicholas broke the silence from the passenger's seat,
"What about our stuff?" He asked. They looked at each other and shrugged. Nicholas reached into his back pocket and felt around for something. He felt it's smooth exterior and pulled it out. He opened the little box secretly and saw that the ring was still in perfect condition. He sighed and put the little box back into his pocket.
"Is something wrong?" Zoey asked Nicholas.
"What? No.Nothing's wrong, why would you say that?!" He asked in a sort of panicked manor.
"Your hiding something." She said.
"...No I'm not." He mumbled.
"Yeah right," She said, "I know that look." Tiffany gagged in the back seat and they looked at her,
"STOP FLIRTING IT'S DISGUSTING!" Tiffany demanded. They rolled their eyes and stopped talking until they had reached their destination...
