Chapter 10

MAKO'S POV:

Me, Bolin, and Hasook make our way to the platform. "Hey Mako, what was that little thingy you just did?" He nudges my shoulder and smirks. "Looks like Mako has a crush." Hasook winks at me. I just roll my eyes. "I have a lot of confidence for this match, I think this could be a big win for the Fire Ferrets." I attempt to change the topic. "What ever you say bro, but we are definitely talking about this later." I let out a huge sigh. 'To be honest, I don't know why I did either. There's just something about her that makes me gravitate to her. It's not like me to be like this. I have no clue why I'm acting this way.' My thoughts were interrupted by Bolin waving his hand in front of my face. "Earth to Mako! are you okay bro? The match is about to start!" I knock his hand away from my face.

It's time to get serious.

(Y/N)'S POV:

I can still feel my cheeks burning up. 'Why am I being like this? He's extremely attractive, but we have only had like two conversations. Wait a minute, don't tell me-' "(Y/N)! The match is about to start!" My thoughts were interrupted my Korra dragging me back to the railing of the balcony. The lights suddenly go off. The area fills up with screams and cheers of the audience, excited to see the event that is about to unfold. A spotlight directly over the ring switches on. A man pops up from the middle with one hand raised and the other holding a microphone.

"Introoooducing, the Fire Ferrets!"

Mako, Bolin, and Hasook appear from the lifted platform. The crowd goes wild. Me and Korra both cheer them on. "AHHH! I LOVE YOU BOLIN!" A fan-girl of him screams from the audience. Bolin puts his hand on his ear as she screams. I laugh at this scene. Clearly Bolin loves attention. "The rookie Ferrets came from out of nowhere  and have made it further than anyone expected this season. But tonight, they face their toughest test yet, folks!"

The words that the announcer said scared me. Of course I'm proud of them for making it this far after only being rookies, but I don't want them to fail. I hope they'll be okay.

The two teams line up for the fight, preparing by getting in their fighting stance. As soon as the bell was struck, they wasted no time. "And they're off! The two teams waste no time trying to blast each other out of zone one!"Bolin ducks under a fire blast and Mako fires one himself. Bolin lifts an Earth disk and throws it at his opponent. The opponent quickly destroys the disk with a wave of fire. He shoots two blasts back at the team. Hasook quickly dives to avoid the fire from hitting him. When he gets back up, he uses water to block a fire blast. But the blast was too strong, so he slides backwards.

"Hasook is the first to feel the heat of the Tigerdillos! He tries to return the favor, but they're too fast for him, while Mako shows off his trademark 'cool under fire' style!"

As the fighting continues, I realize this match isn't going our way. Hasook and Bolin are shot with water and fire, moving them to zone two.

"Oooh, the Tigerdillos score with a walloping one-two combo!"

Me and Korra clutch our hair, frustrated about what just happened. Mako swiftly jumps and spins in the air, avoiding an earth disk and a fire blast. I smile and cheer for him. But that happy moment is short-lived, because suddenly he gets hit by an earth disk. The unfortunate event knocks him back to zone two, joining his two teammates.

"Can their teammate hold on to their zone one territory? Guess not! Mako's over the line!"

Mako's face looks extremely disappointed when he looks down at the line. I frown at the event that just unfolded. 'you guys got this, please don't lose hope' I think to myself. The Tigerdillos run to the teams side.
