{Olivia}
I sigh deeply when I hear my phone ring. I yawn before I push my covers off of me and grab my phone. Astrid is calling me.
'Hello?' I say when I pick up.
'Olivia!' she exclaims, joy can be heard in her voice. I immediately sit up.
'He's awake Olivia!' she says. 'Liam is awake!' My heart starts pounding in my chest.
'Oh my god...' I stammer. 'I... Are you serious?'
'Yes, now are you coming or what?'
'I'll be right there,' I say before I hang up.
He's awake. Liam has really woken up. I quickly jump out of bed and get ready the fastest I've ever have.
Within fifteen minutes I arrive at the hospital, rushing through the hallways to the right room. When I get there I peek through the window and my heart drops when I see Amy, lying in his arms. They are laughing and Amy puts her hand on his chest like they are a couple. Liam looks happy... My heart sinks in my shoes as I grab the metal door handle. I slowly push it down, opening the door. Liam immediately looks up and when he sees me, he smiles.
'Olivia...'
'Am I interrupting?' I mumble. This isn't exactly how I thought this would go.
'No, no of course not,' he quickly says. 'Amy, could you leave us alone for a minute?' His best friend nods and gets out of his bed, rolling her eyes at me as she walks past me. Bitch...
'How are you feeling?' I ask him, taking a seat in the chair next to the bed.
'I'm fine,' he says. 'You?'
'Me too,' I murmur. Why is this so awkward?
'Olivia, is something wrong?' Liam asks me, grabbing my hand. 'I thought you'd be happier to see me, awake of course.' I shake my head as I try to fight the tears. I'm a mess these days.
'Baby...'
'I'm sorry,' I whisper.
'Sorry for what?' Liam gives me a concerned look. 'What happened?'
'It's my fault you're here,' I mumble.
'Come here,' Liam says as he opens his arms. I take the opportunity and crawl into them, resting my head on his chest.
'It's not your fault,' he mumbles. 'Don't think that, okay?' He places a kiss on my hair and for a moment, everything feels okay again. His embrace feels familiar, it feels like home.
'I love you,' Liam whispers. 'So much.'
'I love you too,' I mumble. I can feel Liam smile against the top of my head. I know we need to talk, and we will. Just not now. Not when it will probably ruin everything we have.
We just lie there, holding each other firmly for god knows how long. Liam gently strokes my back, up and down my spine, again and again.
'I've missed you,' I tell him.
'I'm here now,' Liam says. 'I'm right here.'
'You're wearing the necklace,' Liam remarks suddenly.
'Yeah, your mom gave it to me for my birthday,' I say. 'She said it came from you, of course.'
'Do you like it?' Liam asks me and I nod.
'I love it,' I say.
'I immediately thought of you when I saw it,' he explains. 'So I just had to get it for you.' I smile and look up to him, placing a kiss on his lips.
'God, I've missed those lips,' Liam mumbles. I bite my lip for a second before Liam crashes his lips onto mine. I kiss him back with everything I have. It might be our last kiss, so I might as well go completely for it. It doesn't feel the same, though. I don't feel tingles rushing through my body when he kisses me anymore, I don't feel the burning sensation I always had.
Slowly I let go of him.
'Don't you have any complications?' I ask him to not make him suspicious.
'No, of course not,' he says. 'I am a strong man.' I laugh and sit up straight.
'Sure you are,' I say. Suddenly the door swings open and Astrid walks in.
'Olivia, unfortunately you have to go,' she says. 'Liam needs to rest according to his doctors.'
'Just give us five more minutes,' Liam mumbles.
'It's fine,' I say to him. 'I'll be back tomorrow.'
'Okay,' he sighs and I give him a quick kiss before I leave.
Once I'm in my car I decide to call Nora to tell her the big news.
'Hey, Liv,' she says once she picks up.
'He's awake,' I smile.
'What?!' she almost screams through the phone. 'Liam?!'
'Yes,' I say.
'Finally,' she sighs in relief. 'How is he doing?'
'He's fine,' I say. 'There aren't any complications.'
'That's good,' she says. For a few seconds it's quiet.
'And you...?' Nora asks then. 'How are you?'
'I love him,' I mumble. 'I really do, but I don't know. It didn't feel the same. Not just from my side.'
'What happened?'
'When I got there, I looked through the window and Amy was there, lying in his arms,' I tell Nora. 'And Liam looked genuinely happy. I think Amy might be right after all when she said Liam has feelings for her. And when I walked inside, things were just awkward between us. It wasn't like how I expected it to go.'
'So you didn't throw yourself in his arms?' Nora asks me.
'No,' I mumble.
'Okay, it's worse than I thought,' Nora sighs. 'You guys clearly need to talk about everything.'
'I know,' I say. 'I'll go to him again tomorrow.'
'Yeah, you should,' Nora says. 'Anyways, I'm happy he has woken up.'
'Me too,' I smile.
After we've hung up I drive back home, only to be welcomed by fighting parents, again. I walk into the living room and when they see me they stop screaming, thank god.
'Liam is awake,' I tell them.
'Really?' my mother says, smiling. 'That's great, honey!'
'How is he?' my father asks.
'He's fine,' I answer. 'I just can't be there too long since he needs to rest a lot, but still, I'm happy he's finally awake.'
'Me too,' my mother says, giving me a quick hug. 'Shall I make some hot chocolate or tea?'
'Tea sounds good,' I smile.
'You too?' my mother asks my father and he nods.
For the first time in a long time, we finally spend the evening like a normal family, without fighting. And I'm glad about it. Maybe things can turn out good after all.
(Sooo Liam is finally awake. Also, I posted this a lot later than I normally would, but I kinda forgot, oops...
I also wanted to say that I will have a busy upcoming two weeks, since I have my graduation and almost directly after that, I will go on vacation. So I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with my uploading schedule, but I'll try.
Don't forget to give this chapter a like and a comment and have a great weekend, for what's left x)
