Kane

I was sitting alone in my dressing room when there was a knock on the door. "Come in!" I yelled. I turned around when I heard the door open, "Hey can we talk?" Lauren asked nervously. I half smiled and nodded. She shut the door behind her and sat down next to me, leaving a good distance between us. "What's up? You look nervous."

"I didn't something I shouldn't have. And I'm so so sorry. It was so stupid and I hate myself for doing it."

"What did you do?"

"Well, someone came and visited me a couple days ago, and things got out of hand and we might've hooked up."

Needless to say, I was shocked. Lauren cheated on me. How could she do that?

"Who?" I asked, but it came out as more or a statement.

"Luis."

I was so mad at this point. Mad at Lauren, mad at Luis, but mostly mad at myself for being so stupid. I was stupid to think I deserved to be happy. "You n-need to leave."

"Wait I can ex-"

"Just leave." She nodded and stood up. She walked out of my bus and maybe even out of my life.

1 week later

It's been a week since she told me. It's been a week since I've talked to her. It's been a week since I've been sober for more than 8 hours.

It's been a week since I've been happy.

"Kane. You need to stop this."

"I can't! I fucking love her! So much!"

Ally sighed, sitting down next to my drunken self. "I think you need a break. Go home and see your family." I shook my head. I'm not going to let her stop me from working. "No. I'm fine, Ally." I looked down at my hands and played with the ring sitting comfortably on my right hand. "Please. This isn't healthy and you know it." I nodded, "I know. I just don't know what to do. She seems just fine, it's like it doesn't even matter to her." She shook her head, breathing out heavily. "It's not like that at all. She's been laying in her bunk all week crying. She feels really bad, you know."

"Then why'd she do it?"

"So as y'all know, the music I choose is based on my mood, so I thought this next song for in perfectly."

I started to strum the acoustic hanging from my shoulder.

She put him out, like the burning end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart
He spent his whole life trying to forget

We watched him drink his pain away, a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind until the night,

He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short, but this time it was bigger than the strength he had to get up off his knees
