(Y/N) watches as the boys finish up digging and paying their respects with a smile on her face. She had sat out at the side with 2 of the children that had been rescued from the house, the eldest helping with the digging. The little girl, whose name she had not learnt, stuck to her like glue- and this made her heart swell. The shyness of the girl reminded her of her little sister, Ren, and she automatically felt protective of her. 

"Hey, dumbass! Look how well I did!" Inosuke yells, causing (Y/N) to roll her eyes slightly. 

"Be respectful, pig man! You've just buried people that lost their lives in a tragic way" She scolds, causing him to lower his head slightly. The boys dust themselves off and walk towards (Y/N) to regroup. Tanjiro slings the wooden box gently onto his back and she watches intently. Whatever was in that box must be incredibly important- after all Zenitsu risked his life for it. The two children run towards their big brother with smiles on their faces, their little pouches held in their hands. (Y/N) decided to gift them the pouches filled with wisteria to keep them safe and to lift their spirits.

"These are filled with a very special flower that will keep you safe" She remembers explaining, and she giggled at the wowed look on their faces. Inosuke stands in front of her with his arms crossed and she could feel his eyes stare at him from under his mask.

"Why are you on the floor?" He asks in a confused tone as he stares at the girl. She chuckles slightly and she points to her heaving chest.

"I messed my ribs up again, partially courtesy of you not controlling your hands" She says sternly and Inosuke felt a shiver go down his spine. He was used to her telling him off by now, but this time it seemed so much different. Tanjiro steps towards the two with Zenitsu trailing behind him and a smile on his face.

"The kids are on their way home now, and they feel a lot safer due to your gift (Y/N)" He begins causing her to grin. She was glad to see that her small gesture of kindness went to good use. 

"We've just got to wait for our next mission now" He finishes as he looks around the area. Since the last time she had saw him, the scar on his forehead seemed to have grown quite a bit darker. As if on cue his crow swoops down onto his outstretched arm and it ruffled it's feathers. 

"West! West! You must head west towards the Wisteria House! You must heal!" It yells in a shrill voice, causing (Y/N) to grimace slightly- her nose wrinkled. She was so thankful to have a crow with a bearable voice. Tanjiro nods slightly and he looks from his crow to his friends. 

"He has spoken" He laughs as his crow flies away, and he beckons for Zenitsu to get on his back. Poor Zenitsu, he was in pretty bad shape due to Inosukes pig assault. She looks towards Inosuke with pleading eyes as she outstretches her hand.

"Help me up?" She asks sweetly, causing Inosuke to snort quietly. She expects him to walk away and leave her to hobble to the wisteria house by herself, but he seems to have had a change of heart. He loops his strong arms around her waist and under her kneecaps, and he lifts her towards his chest. She squeaks as she is lifted up, and he breaks out into a jog to catch up with the other two. 

"You didn't have to carry me!" She stammers as her face heats up. He just grumbles in response as he continues to jog, and she lays her head against his chest. She could hear his heart beat speed up, which only added to her blush. There was the strange feeling in his tummy again, but this time it was 10 times worse. The smell of her shampoo had his head reeling, and he could feel the warmth radiating off of her body. (Y/N) feels her eyes grow heavy as they travel, and she tries her best to focus on the scenery in front of her. Tanjiro carrying lemon boy like he was a bag of coal. The trees fluttering past them. The birds chirping above her head. But she just can't fight off the sleepiness she felt.
