The group finish up gathering their supplies, and (Y/N) gives Nezuko one last head pat before she slips into the box on her brothers back. The old lady had kindly patched up all of their uniforms overnight so they looked good as knew. She had also decided to give Inosuke's mask a good scrub, so it now smelt like lavender and chalky soap. (Y/N) ruffles his head as she walks past him and she sends him a smile over her shoulder.

There it was yet again. His heart sped up and it felt like he had swallowed a whole group of butterflies. He made a mental note to speak to her later about the whole couple thing, she should have some good answers. Once they were all packed up they sent the lady a huge bow, and (Y/N) kept on thanking her all while they were leaving. As they reach the branded metal gate the lady gets out a flint and steel- and she begins lighting sparks. Inosuke and the blonde boy jump, and Inosuke hides behind (Y/N) whilst squealing.

"What is that hag doing!?" He exclaims in his gruff voice, causing her to smack the back of his head. Tanjiro grips the bridge of his nose and he quickly apologizes to the lady as they set off to their mission.

"She was lighting sparks to ward off anything evil we may encounter" She explains firmly as they begin walking and Inosuke nods, pretending he understood exactly what she was saying. The gravel crunches beneath their feet, and she stares up at the sky. It was a super clear night that night, meaning she could see every single star and constellation.

"Whoa" She whispers to herself as she stares and she feels hands on her shoulders, causing her to jump. She looks over to see the boar man himself staring at her, and he seems confused. She smiles at him and points towards the sky.

"Look at all those stars" She grins as he also looks up to see what she was talking about. His mouth gapes open slightly (not that anyone would see through his thick mask) as his emerald eyes flicker around the sky. How did he never notice this before? He turns his gaze from the stars back to the girl, who was still engrossed in watching the sky. He feels his face begin to heat up as he studies every aspect of her soft face. Her wide e/c eyes, her pink lips that were held in a large smile, her h/c hair as it fell softly in her field of view.

She looks back towards the boy with a smile as they continued walking. There was a chill in the air tonight and (Y/N) had never been more thankful for her thick uniform.

"Hey Tanjiro, do you know anything about this mountain?" Zenitsu asks thoughtfully as he wraps his bright haori around himself. The rosewood haired boy tapped his chin with his index finger- a habit (Y/N) had observed a lot over the time they had known each other.

"I'm going to be honest, not really. All I know is that there's a demon infestation" He smiles and Zen's teeth begin to chatter. As nice as the guy was, he was a bit of a coward and he needed to work on that.

"A demon infestation again, huh?" (Y/N) ponders and she stretches her arms. They'd all have to be incredibly careful due to their injuries, but she was excited to fight again alongside her new found friends.

The group arrive at the foot of the mountain, and (Y/N) feels a chill consume her body. Something about the atmosphere seemed so...off.

"Holy shit" She murmurs as she stares at the tall trees, and she hears a thud behind her. They turn around to see Zenitsu grovelling on the floor with his head tucked between his legs. He was whimpering- causing Inosuke to grumble and kick him in the head.

"Get up, coward! Race me!" He screams causing the blonde boy to curl up even further into a ball. (Y/N) shakes her head as she watches the boys bicker backwards and forwards, and she moves to stand next to Tanjiro. His eyebrows were furrowed and he seemed to be sniffing the air, and she could tell something was up.
