Aro's Mate

Chapter Five

They lead me over to some couches and we all sit down, they are smiling at me and I just sit there awkwardly, not sure at all what to say or do.

"Tell us about yourself!" Athenadora grabs my hand happily.

"You aren't going to read my mind too are you?" I say trying to pull my hand away.

"Oh no, I don't have that power, we won't use our powers on you unless told to, it's just us here, don't be shy!" she squeezes my hand a bit.

"Okay. Um well I'm almost 18, I recently graduated from high school and I planned on going to college to major in English to be a high school English teacher, but I guess that's not going to happen. I love to read, and I love plants and the outdoors." I look at each of them as I talk, they look so intrigued by me, it's like they haven't talked to someone else in years.

"That's so wonderful!" Didyme says, she looks extremely happy and her face lights up, I am starting to get more comfortable around them.

"You would love our library, Aro spends lots of time there as well, maybe you should ask him to take you there." Chelsea adds in.

"I think I might like that." I mutter a soft smile and all the ladies smile back at me.

"It's so nice to have a new female here, we don't get out much, so it's been a while since we've talked to someone new that we aren't going to kill." Chelsea says and Didyme elbows her.

"Don't make her think that life here sucks. We have fun here, we do, it's just not often that we have someone new to talk to that will be one of us." Athenadora tries to comfort me as she's still holding my hands.

"Well I'm just glad I'll have some friends around here to talk to." I look down shyly.

"So! What do you think of Aro?" Didyme asks and the other two sit up and lean in as if we're talking gossip.

"Well he is very sweet, I don't think I'd ever notice a guy like him back home but if I'm being honest I do feel something when I'm around him." I blush a bit and Chelsea squeals happily.

"You guys are mates! Of course you feel something!" Chelsea says excitedly.

"He only speaks of you, when you were asleep he talked to us and this is the happiest we've seen him in a very long time, he's been waiting for you for years and I love to see him this happy." Didyme says.

"Well I do like making other people happy." I shrug and look down.

"Is something wrong?" Chelsea asks and looks concerned.

"Well this is all just so sudden, one day me and my family are on vacation, the next they are all dead and I'm to be turned into a vampire and married." I ramble on.

Didyme comforts me by rubbing my back "Hey, I promise this will all come natural to you soon since you two are meant to be, this is supposed to happen, so eventually it will feel normal and you will be happy, I promise." Didyme says as she comforts me. It honestly does bring some comfort, I like talking to them.

"I suppose you're right. Is there a way I can speed up the process? I'm tired of feeling uncomfortable."

"You can spend more time with Aro, really get to know him and ask him lots of questions, he will bring you comfort, he really wants you to be happy so if you just talk to him he will be glad to make that happen." Chelsea's words truly help, Aro does seem like a nice guy so I will start to try my best to get used to this life.

There is then a knock at the door and Demetri comes in. "Hungry, ladies?" he has three humans following him who look like they have no idea what is about to happen, I get a bad feeling in my stomach. Demetri leaves and the three humans stand there confused.

"Watch how we have fun." Athenadora whispers to me. I sit on the couch and watch them do their thing.

They all get up and walk towards the humans who are all male. They each choose one and put their arm around them, the men look excited thinking this is something else. They walk the men to the couches and each start touching them and dirty talking with them, I want to stop watching but I can't. They all start making out and suddenly they each bite the men's necks all at the same time, it's like I'm watching a horror movie. The men scream but soon the screams stop and the women continue to drink them dry until their lifeless bodies fall to the floor. I'm in shock and not sure what to say.

"And that's how it's done." Didyme smirks and wipes her mouth.

"What do you think, Amelia?" Chelsea looks at me and laughs, she can tell I'm shocked and I'm not sure what to say.

"I'm going to have to do that? I don't know if I will be able to I almost feel sick at the sight of that." I hold my stomach and look down.

Athenadora sits next to me and puts her arm around me "hey I promise that once you are transitioned it will all come naturally to you, it will feel normal, like it's what you are meant to do because it is." She rubs my back.

"I believe you, I just can't imagine myself doing that"

"Of course you can't, you're still human, but once you are one of us it will just be you trying to survive" Chelsea reassures me.

And with that Aro comes in "Hello ladies, and my beautiful Amelia, how was lunch?" he comes over and takes my hand, getting me up from the couch. I can't help but smile when I see him and he smiles back.

"It was lovely, thanks Aro. But I think we three best be going, and hey, how about you show Amelia the library, I think she'll like it" Didyme says and then they leave, so me and Aro are alone.

"Would you like to see the library?" Aro asks as he puts an arm around me.

"Yes, I would really like that" I smile up at him and then lean into his arm, it feels so natural.

"Magnifico, let's go" he takes my hand and we make our way through the castle until we get to some huge double doors.

"Are you ready?" Aro asks and he opens the doors. I gasp, there has to be millions of books in here. My face lights up and Aro chuckles.

"You are so beautiful when you're excited." He pushes my hair out of my face and I look up at him, our eyes lock and I blush. He strokes my cheek and then puts his hand on my chin, making my face angle up even more, he then leans down and kisses me on the lips. I don't pull away, I kiss him back and it feels like fireworks, for the first time I grab for him and I put my hands around his neck and he pulls away.

"Not too far, I wont be able to control myself." My face turns red and I look down.

"Oh don't be embarrassed my love, that was wonderful, I cant wait until we can go farther." He pulls me into a hug, and I rest my head on his shoulder, I really am falling for him.

I'm SO sorry I haven't updated in a while, I truly have been extremely busy because I got a job and I'm working a lot, but I promise I am still dedicated to this story! As always please leave feedback! XX
