Aro's Mate

Chapter Four

I wake up suddenly out of nowhere and see out the window that it is completely dark now, I look up to see Aro and am reminded quickly of where I am.

"Have a nice nap, Principessa?" Aro smiles a light smile and moves my messy hair out of my face.

"Yes, did you just sit here while I napped on you?" I say sitting up, rubbing my tired eyes.

"Of course I did, my love. Now you should get some actual sleep, it's still a few hours until morning, there are some new clothes for you in my wardrobe that I had my assistants get for you, I hope they are to your liking." He helps me up and leads me to the wardrobe and I gasp when I see the clothes.

"Wow, I could never afford these clothes, you really didn't have to do this" I say sifting through the clothes seeing only the top brands.

"But I did, all for you" he puts an arm around me and I flinch a bit but then relax. I pick out some pajamas and walk into the bathroom. The bathroom is huge, it's probably bigger than my bedroom back home. I get changed and walk back out in the blue silk pajamas I picked out.

"Ah Amelia! You look lovely even in nightwear." I find myself blushing at his compliment, so I look down, hoping he didn't see.

"Thank you, Aro." I smile at him and he leads me to the huge king size bed.

"Now get some beauty sleep, I have some business to attend to but Demetri will be right outside your door, so yell if you need anything." I nod and he kisses me on the forehead.

"Goodnight, lovely." And with that, he leaves, and I am alone for the first time since coming here.

Can I escape? Do I even want to escape? My family is dead and I only had one friend at home. I hope she is doing okay. I sit on the bed and think about my options. Can I really be happy here? Aro really isn't that bad, the other two kings kind of freak me out, though. I get under the covers and these thoughts continue to run through my head until I drift off, and fall asleep.

I am awoken a few hours later by the sun shining into the room, I rub my eyes and instinctively reach over for my phone and then I realize it isn't there, and I realize I'm not in the hotel I was staying in. The memories come flooding back to me and I sigh.

"Goodmorning, Amelia." I jump at the sudden voice, thinking I was alone. I look over and Aro is sitting in a chair at the foot of the bed.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, I have only been sitting here for about an hour, I wanted to be here when you woke up."

"Oh, its ok, I just wasn't expecting it. Goodmorning Aro." I sit up and Aro comes to my bedside.

"Stay here, Demetri is bringing you breakfast in bed!"

"Really?" I can't help but smile, I only get breakfast in bed on my birthday back home. And with that Demetri comes in with a huge tray of food and puts it on my lap.

"Woah, this is all for me?" Aro and Demetri both laugh and nod at me as I begin eating, I didn't know how hungry I was until I started. I honestly don't remember the last time I ate.

"You aren't hungry? Oh wait.." they both laugh and Demetri takes a seat in the chair Aro was sitting in.

"I have some business to attend to but it shouldn't take long, Demetri is going to stay in here so you two can get acquainted" I actually got a little sad that I didn't get to spend more time with Aro, so I just nodded and watched him leave.

"Let me know if you need absolutely anything, I am happy to help master Aro's mate."

"Thanks, can I ask you a question?" I say while eating my food and Demetri just nods.

"What is your job here? You had to have been doing something before I arrived"

"I am a member of the Volturi guard, also a tracker. I help guard the kings if we ever are to go anywhere. While at the castle I help them with anything they could possibly need, and right now that is watching you." I nod and continue to eat

Something I've noticed about being with vampires is how inhumane they act, I mean it makes sense, but it's taking some getting used to. They are literally perfect, they walk perfect, sit perfect, even look perfect. And here I am with food on my face slouching in this bed looking like a messy human. All these thoughts run through my head as I continue eating.

"So, when Aro says he has business to attend to, what does he mean?" I ask this risky question, kind of afraid of the answer.

"It could mean lots of things. A vampire could be here to talk to the kings, they could be talking about a vampire who broke the rules, going over new rules, or, well, dealing with tourists. There are many things the kings do that I cannot talk about also, but right now Aro is probably doing one of the things I mentioned."

"oh" I nod at the tourist part, but I guess they have to eat, right? And with that I am finished eating. Demetri stands up and walks over to me, taking my plate.

"Get changed into some day clothes and then come with me." I do as he says and I go to the wardrobe, picking out some nice jeans and a blouse.

I go to the bathroom to change and get ready and come out a few minutes later, Demetri is waiting by the door. We walk out the door and there is a maid with a cart, Demetri sets the tray my food was on onto the cart and the maid smiles and bows to Demetri. She isn't pale and looks human.

"Is she human?" I ask.

"Yes, sometimes we get people who know we are vampires and want to serve us in hopes of being turned, but we just use them for a while and then kill them."

"oh" I simply say.

"Where are we going?" I try to change the subject.

"I am taking you to meet some people that Aro wanted you to meet, well not people, vampires, but you know what I mean." I let out a small laugh and follow Demetri through the castle hallways. We come into a huge room with big windows and a sun roof. There are women in there laughing and they smile when they see me and all three walk up to me.

"Aro thought it would be nice if you got to know some other women here, to make you more comfortable. This is Didyme, Marcus's wife, who is one of the kings." He points to a beautiful woman with brown hair and fair face.

"Hi Amelia! I've heard so much about you!" She gives me a tight cold hug and I smile

"This is Chelsea, a member of the guard" he points to another beautiful women with long brown hair and perfect skin.

"Hey girl! I hope we'll be great friends" she also gives me a tight and cold hug and I smile at her as well.

"And this is Athenadora, or Dora for short. She is Caius's wife, who is the other king." She is blonde and so gorgeous.

"Hey, I look forward to getting to know you" and I am once again greeted with a tight and cold hug, I still haven't gotten used to their cold bodies and it makes me uncomfortable.

"I will leave her to you" Demetri bows and leaves the room, leaving me with these three gorgeous women who apparently will be my new best friends around here.
