Aro's Mate

Chapter Seven

I wake up and stretch, I didn't even notice that I had fallen asleep, but I am still in my clothes from yesterday. I look at the clock and it is 7:00 in the morning.

"Goodmorning, Amelia." I jump when I hear Aro's voice and look over, he is sitting in the bed next to me.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Before I can say anything Aro moves the covers away from my legs to see them. I look down and there are bruises on my legs where Aro had squeezed them yesterday. He gasps and gets up from the bed, horrified at what he had done to me.

"It isn't a huge deal, Aro. I promise. I shouldn't have gotten on top of you, I knew you wouldn't be able to control yourself." I say apologetically.

"No. This is not your fault il mio amore, it's mine. I'm a monster" He frowns and looks down. I get up from the bed and walk over to him. I reach out to give him a hug but he backs away and I look at him offended.

"I don't want to hurt you again." He stands a few feet from me and looks so disappointed in himself, all I want to do is comfort him but how do I comfort a vampire? I sit down on the couch facing a window and pat the spot next to me so he comes to sit. I grab his hand and put it on my thigh where he bruised me.

"Look, you are touching me right now and not hurting me, you are a gentle person, Aro. Your instincts just kick in in certain situations, nothing wrong with that." I lean and kiss his cheek.

"You are very mature. I like it." He smiles and kisses me on the forehead and then my stomach grumbles.

"I guess I'm hungry." I clutch my stomach and Aro laughs. He takes my hand and leads me through the castle to the room I was once in with Didyme and the others and there is a breakfast waiting for me.

"Thank you!" I smile and start eating, Aro just watches me.

"So, how was hunting last night?" I really don't want to know but I'm trying to start to take interest in the vampire life.

"It was excellent, but I will spare you the details." He laughs and just observes me eating. He seems so interested in my human ways of living, which makes me think.

"Why do you have a bed in your room if you don't sleep?" I ask and Aro smirks.

"Well, beds can be used for more than just sleeping." My face turns red when he says that and I look down. Wow, why didn't I think of that.

"Something wrong?" Aro senses that I am a bit uncomfortable.

"Well, I'm a virgin. And part of me is just kind of embarrassed because seeing that I won't be able to go that far with you while I'm human, means that I won't lose my virginity until I'm dead." I look up at him and he is just smiling. He rests his hand gently on my thigh as I continue eating.

"Well the way I see it, your true life won't start until you are transitioned. Once you are a vampire, your human life won't matter, and neither will anything you did in it. So we can start your vampire life off with us taking the next step, if you'd like." My face turns red at the thought of sleeping with Aro, even though it is all I've been thinking about since yesterday.

"I am a bit offended you are making my human life sound pointless." I laugh and elbow him so he knows I'm joking.

"But really, I would love that. It will be the first thing I do with my new vampire body." I stick my tongue out to tease him and he laughs.

I continue eating and Didyme comes running in and sits next to me.

"So! Your birthday is in a week! The big question is, do you want a birthday party? Oh please say yes I have never thrown a birthday party before please!!" she begs me and I can't say no.

"Yeah I mean sure, if you want." I smile and keep eating.

"Yes! It will be so amazing. We are also planning your wedding for the day after your birthday." She says and I spit out my food, I had totally forgot that I am expected to marry Aro as well. I don't think I have a problem with it, but turning 18 and getting married all in the span of two days sounds crazy to me.

"Oh yeah, the wedding." I look down not sure of what to say about it. Didyme puts an arm on my back and I think she motions to Aro because he then walks away so it is just me and Didyme.

"Look, I know it seems scary, but it will all be great Amelia I promise. On your birthday, we will celebrate, it will be your last celebration as a human. Then at the end of the night you will be transitioned. The next day you will marry Aro."

"This just all seems so fast." I continue to look down.

"I know hun, but me and the other girls will be there for you every step of the way, and so will Aro. He loves you and he will do absolutely anything for you." I look up at her and smile, she really is so sweet.

"Thank you Didyme, I'm so excited to have an older sister, I've never had one before. And since you're Aro's sister, you'll be mine too" I give her a hug and she hugs me back.

"Now follow me, Aro has a surprise for you at the front of the castle." I follow her through the castle to the front entrance, where me and my family once entered. It is a gorgeous atrium with high ceilings and light coming through some windows above the door. The other two kings are there and so is Athenadora as well as some members of the guard.

"What's going on?" I ask and Aro comes forward and takes my hand, leading me to the middle of the room.

"My lovely Amelia." He gets on one knee. "Will you do me the honor, of becoming my Queen?" My face turns bright red. I didn't know this was going to happen since I was pretty much forced into this.

I pause for a moment and look and this handsome man kneeling before me. The man I will spend the rest of my life with, as a vampire.

"Yes Aro, of course." I smile and he smiles widely and puts the ring on my finger and I gasp, it had to have cost a fortune. It is gold with a huge diamond in the middle and smaller diamonds going down the side of the ring.

"It's gorgeous, Aro." He holds my hand in his and kisses it.

"Only the best for my future queen, and I know it may have seemed like you didn't have a choice, because you kind of don't. But I wanted this to feel as normal as possible for you, so I thought an engagement would help with that."

I look up into his eyes and kiss him. "I love you, Aro."

"I love you too, forever and always." He takes my hand and holds it up and everyone claps.

"Now leave us! Begin wedding preparations, as well as her birthday party and transitioning." Everyone follows his orders and then we are alone. We begin walking through the castle hand in hand.

"Amelia darling, would you like to go out on the town with me tonight?" he asks.

"Oh yes I would love that! Me and my family didn't get to explore much before coming here...." I sigh and push the thought out of my head. He squeezes my hand.

"Wonderful." We stop right outside his office where Demetri is standing.

"I have some work to do, but Demetri is here to escort you wherever you will like to go in the castle until around 19:00 when I will come and get you for our walk." He kisses me and disappears into his office.

SO sorry that took so long, I had writers block and this took forever to write. I have lots of ideas for upcoming chapters though so hopefully my uploads will be closer together. Thanks for reading!! XX
