A young girl was sitting in Hawaii's enchanted meadow, surrounded by vibrant flowers and the glories of the natural world. She struggled to entwine the Bellflower stalks as she picked blooms and made little crowns. She pouted and twisted her tiny face in annoyance before flinging the crown away. She sat down in the middle of the flowering bed, stretched her little arms toward the big sky, and sighed happily.

She murmured once again, "Mmmmh," and spun a Bellflower by its stem. I'm curious... What's it like to have a different identity? She stared at the little flower in her hand, her thoughts drifting as she softly rubbed her fingertips along the petals.

She started as she heard a strange rustle coming from behind her. When she felt what felt like tiny needles pricking her, she turned back and crept towards the bush hiding whatever frightened her.

She trembled and said, "Hello?" The small girl started around for something to explore as the bush rustled even more. She seized the handle of her basket and dumped out her meticulously crafted flower crowns. She poked the bush, and as she gasped, something yanked on the other end.

She retreated with purpose when a taller figure emerged from the thicket. The young child stumbled backward and exclaimed, "Oof." The apparition tilted its head curiously and looked down at her.

The girl yelled in terror and threw a tiny rock at the figure, hitting her in the face. The figure stroked her cheek and winced, which made the girl feel bad for hurting her. She felt her own throbbing cheek and wondered why it bothered her as well.

The towering figure featured horn-like protrusions from her head, long silver hair, sharp ears, and unusual markings on her face and torso. Pure white with a tinge of purple, her eyes were. She was covered in a tail, which exposed her.

They both hesitated, keeping a safe distance between them. The young child overcame her fright and reached out her arm to the apparition. She questioned, her voice quivering with shame, "Are you okay? "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit you."

The apparition continued to be watchful, causing the girl to flee in terror. She left and came back with her hands full and panting hard. She exclaimed, "Wait!" before stumbling to her knees and gasping for air. The girl's eyes widened as the apparition approached face to face with her and caressed her shoulder.

She found it hard to believe. She slapped her cheeks, whispering to herself, "Pinch me; I'm dreaming. The girl's hands rushed to a bouquet of flowers, and the figure gazed in perplexity. The girl blushed as she extended them to the figure, who received them.

The girl introduced herself, "I'm Celest, or Tia to friends... if I had any," looking intently at the figure in hopes of getting a reaction. Unable to talk, the figure simply shook her head. "Do you have a name?" Celest said, cocking her head. One more headshake follows.

Looking around, the girl tried to come up with a name. The figure grinned at her suggestion, "How about BlueBell?" OK, the matter is resolved! We'll refer to you as Bell for short even though your new name is BlueBell.

This was the start of a special friendship, an enduring connection between a young girl and Bell, her enigmatic companion.
