Chapter 17: Good Mood

I woke up really early. Hindi din naman kasi ako nakatulog kanina eh. I was wide awake and looking at all the photos Harper and I took 'nung nasa beach kami. Sobrang daming pictures na naka-save sa phone ko but I can say they're my favorite. I love how natural everything is. 'Yung hindi pilit at alam mong we do feel the same love and attraction towards each other. She looks like an angel; her smile, the way her gorgeous lips is stretched beautifully, her teeth that is as white as a snow, her eyes that are sparkling and so soulful, her nose na ang sarap pisilin at panggigilan. Everything about her even the little things, are beautiful to me. Never kong naramdaman 'to towards Laura, my ex-girlfriend. It was more of lust. More of fulfilling each others hunger for sex. It wasn't love. In fact, it was a toxic one. On and off couple. Ganun kaming dalawa. Napagod ako at napagod din siya. End of story.

Yet with Harper, my precious angel, everything feels right. Like puzzle pieces that perfectly fit with each other, like coffee and cream that compliment, like how pandesal taste better once dipped in a hot cup of milo, and like how pancake tastes better with chocolate syrup. We do compliment each other. We are a perfect pair.

"Seems like someone's in a good mood today..." sabi ni Dad once I went to the dining room to grab some breakfast

He's having his 'usual breakfast'. Black coffee and french toast.

I gave him a sweet smile and took the seat next to him.

"She's a darling, son. Don't you ever break her heart..." sabi ulit ni Dad habang kukuha na sana ako ng kanin

I can't live without rice. Buti na lang kahit anong takaw ko may abs pa rin ako. I guess being hot runs in our genes. HAHAHAHA.

"I won't, Emps. She means the world to me..." sabat ko and Dad seems like he's proud of me because of what I've said

"I know, Dad. I am just like you..." sabi ko ulit at kumuha naman ng paborito kong ginisang tinapa

I'm a tinapa addict. Kahit anong ipakain niyo sa akin basta may tinapa game ako. Minsan nga pati sa tinapay tinapa ang nasa loob eh. I eve requested our house helpers to cook this one for me.

"Huge no. Do not be like me but be Rave Venereza. Make your own life and do not live on my shadow. You can do better, son..." sabi niya at saktong sumulpot si Charlotte

"GOOD MORNING NETIZENSSSSS!" her energy is quite extra as always

"Dear, you might want to tone down your voice..." saway sa kanya ni Dad

"Sorry Dad. I just heard about the news and I'm so happy for Ravey!" sabat ni Charlotte

"Kuya Rave..." puna ni Dad kasi minsan nakakalimutan nitong si Lottie na tawagin akong kuya eh

"Kuya Rave pala. So, anong plano mo kuya? Bubukod ka na ba?" tahasan niyang tanong kaya nabilaukan ako

Dad then laughs at me and I gave Charlotte a knowing look.

"Ang ingay mo ring bata ka, ano? Where did you get that news?" tanong ko sa kanya

"Errrr-----'dun lang sa groupchat nating family. Mom spilled the tea and we are all happy for you, Kuya!" sabi niya at tinakpan 'yung ilong niya pagkatapos

She hates sardines. Medyo sosyal kasi 'tong kapatid ko eh. Ni streetfoods nga once in a blue moon lang kumain eh. Just like Uncle Vyke, Dad's youngest brother.

"That stinks! Ewwwww..." sabi niya sa akin sabay turo 'dun sa sardinas

Btw, tinapa means sardinas. That's how Ilonggos or people from Negros Province call it.

"Lottie, it's not that bad. Just try it...." sabi ko sa kanya

"Noooo! I don't want to, Ravey! Bacon na lang ako. Okaaaayyy?" dali-dali siyang kumuha ng bacon at isinubo

Dang this kid.
