Waking up in the hospital wasn’t new to me.  I looked around and noticed that Kade was sitting in a chair fast asleep.

I knew that I had dislocated my shoulder and that I should follow doctor’s orders, to hell with that!  I quickly moved my arm around, holding back my cry of pain with a wince. I was suppose to keep it still for a month and a half, but screw it.  After the pain was settled I swiftly got up out of bed and grabbed my clothes. After double checking that Kade was really asleep, I hauled off my hospital gown and arm sling and put on my clothes.

To be honest I hate hospitals, they give me the creeps. The longer I lay in the bed, the more I think about how many people have died in it.  Add the stuffiness and smell on top of that and immediately makes me want to jump out of the bed and leave. Like right now.

“Kade! Wake up. We’re leaving,” I told him, while standing in front of him snapping my fingers in his face.

He groaned. “A wake up kiss would have been much better,” he told me as he sat up.

Recognition dawned on his face and he looked up at me quickly taking my presents in.

            “Y-you’re up!” he cried.

“Yes I’m up! Don’t you see me standing in front of you?” I said rolling my  eyes. “Now let’s go! I hate hospitals!”

He looked me over before he got up.

“It doesn’t hurt anymore!” I said happily as I left the room.

Once I checked out we went back to the campground.  I was surprised that Max hadn’t stayed and waited for me to wake up. But Kade said that he insisted on staying.

When we got to the campground everyone smiled when they saw me. I smiled back and waved with the arm that was suppose to be limp.

Their reactions were hilarious! Their jaws dropped and they stared at me like I was crazy. Only Max understood, she came up to me smiling like she trained a great worrier.

“You got out before they could come back didn’t you?”

“Yup, and then I got the hell out of there!”

She laughed, and we went on her camper.

“Did it hurt?” Calia asked me.

Immediately all the guys bursted into gaffaws of laughter.

“THAT’S SHE SAID!” they yelled out.

I turned around laughing and gave them a wink.

“Did what hurt? The arm, of what Kade and I did last night?” I asked Cal  while trying not to laugh. I managed to keep a straight face, even with the guys laughing.

            Calia blushed.

“Never mind,” she muttered quickly and started reading her book.

                “Wait,” I heard Alex say.

“Kade did you guys really, you know?”

At that everyone burst out laughing so hard. I had tears threatening to come out of my eyes.  Alex was the only one that didn’t understand.

                “What?” he questioned.

“Dude,  she was joking!  We didn’t do anything last night!”  Kade told him while still laughing.

“Oh,” he looked around the camper. “Calia, do you want to go for a walk?” he asked her.

She nodded and they made their way out of the camper. Once they were gone I chuckled.

“They’re just too easy to pick on,” I said.

                Everyone nodded in agreement.

“I’m going to go outside to paint my nails, you coming Sky?” Max asked me.

“Umm…I think I’m just gonna stay here and chill with the guys,” I replied.

She shrugged and went outside, carrying her bag of nail polish.

“Ely tell me a funny story about Kaden,” I demanded.

He looked up at me and suddenly a huge grin formed on his face.

“Well there was this one time that he drank a whole bottle of vodka.  He thought it was juice because his parents were stupid enough to think that if they put it in a juice container that he didn’t like that he wouldn’t drink it.  I mean his parents are stupid but that was just damn right idiotic! Anyways he was drunker than a doorknob and decided to-,”

                “ALRIGHT!  That’s enough!”  Kade shouted.

                I laughed.

“What?  Is it really that embarrassing?”   I question.

“Well ya, and I don’t really want it getting around.  Ely is the only one that knows what happened.  My parents didn’t even notice that the vodka was gone,” he said laughing at the memory.

                “How old were you?”

                “Twelve.”

I nodded.  I thought about telling Ely what had happened the night before with Jared, but thought better of it.  If he was about to tell me a story about his best friend so easily, he certainly wouldn’t hesitate to tell everyone my story.

Suddenly I heard Jared’s voice talking to Max.  They came in, Max looking confused and Jared looking pissed.  He looked at Kade.

“I want to talk to you,” he said menacingly.

Kade nodded and they walked out of the camper. My heart beat picked up as I heard shouting.

What the hell was going on?
