*A/N- Hello! I know it has been a looong time since I last updated this story (sorry about that!) Since starting "Transfixed," I have graduated from high school and now college. But, this story has always been in the back of my mind, and I promise there is a lot of exciting action in store! I am dedicating this summer to finishing this story, so you can experience the rest of Audrianna's journey. Thank you for sticking with me for so long, and I hope you enjoy!*
After my conversation with Mr. Weasley, I was dying to talk with Harry, Ron and Hermione so we could strategize. Although, Hermione and Ron weren't spending much time in the same room together, so Ron would just have to miss out. After saying goodbye to Remus and Tonks, the three of us went up to mine and Hermione's room.
"Tell us everything," Hermione said, and I did. I left nothing out, and they listened intently.
"Well, we have to go to the ministry," Harry said shortly, standing up. "We have to know what is happening in there. It sounds like Lucius Malfoy may have played a role in Cassady's disappearance."
As much as I didn't like it, I agreed. I couldn't think of any other reason why Lucius would be holding my father hostage at the ministry. He was a part of this, somehow. The part I didn't understand was why my father was cooperating. Dumbledore said that Dad was not fighting Lucius, which made no sense to me, whatsoever. My dad (and my mum, for that matter,) were both equally as strong as Lucius Malfoy, and there was no doubt that they could overpower him together. Why didn't they try?
Harry sensed that my mind was far away. "What is it, Audrey?" he asked.
"My dad. Why wouldn't he fight back? Why would he allow this to happen?"
"He could be bewitched," Hermione said. "Or threatened."
"Yes..." I said, considering it. Both seemed like valid reasons. I felt hatred for the Minister grow inside me. He was a coward, a fool, and if Lucius Malfoy was involved in my sister's disappearance, then I had no doubt that Fudge was, too. "I think the Ministry has fallen to the Death Eaters. If Lucius is controlling the Department of Mysteries, then he's controlling Fudge as well." Harry and Hermione grimaced.
"Yes," they both said quietly in unison.
"When should we go?" I asked.
"I don't know. I have to speak about this to Dumbledore," Harry said.
"No way!" I cried. "There's no way he'll let us go on our own."
"Audrey," Harry said, a surprising sternness in his voice. "Trust me. Please." I stared into his intense green eyes and felt like a bolt of lightening had shocked me. Every time I looked at him, I always felt something. When Harry looked at someone, it was like they were the only person in the world. He had a way of making you feel seen, and I was transfixed.
"I do," I said softly. "I always will."
A surge of desire washed over me, and I knew what I wanted. I almost started leaning in towards him before remembering Hermione was still in the room. My face flushed immediately as embarrassment overtook me.
"OK, well, we'll discuss it with Dumbledore when we go back to school," Hermione said quickly as she stood up. "I just remembered I left a book downstairs. I think I'm going to go downstairs for a quick read."
I smirked. Hermione's reading sessions were never quick. She knew what I wanted to happen. What a great friend.
"OK, enjoy yourself!" I said quickly, maybe a little too quickly. She gave me a subtle wink before slipping out the door, closing it softly behind her.
And then, it was quiet. A candle burned by my bed, casting a soft red light throughout the room. The sound of crickets wafted in through my open window, a soft breeze gently blowing my hair. I was still in my red party dress, the same one I wore to the Slug Club party.
I looked at Harry as he sat in front of me in his black pants and white dress shirt, his black hair messy, as always. He was looking out the window too, his cheeks slightly flushed. I could tell he was thinking about the same thing I was.
"Harry?" I said quietly. "Harry... I love you." He turned to face me, his eyes searching into mine. He gently cupped my face with his hand, his thumb rubbing my cheek.
"Oh Audrey, I love you too." His lips met mine, and his arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me towards him. His lips moved to kiss my neck, and I let out a small moan as I leaned against the wall. I settled down on the bed as he continued to make his way down my neck to my chest, then he stopped. "Is this what you want?" he whispered. I looked around the small, cozy room, illuminated by the candlelight, the crickets singing to us, and I didn't even have to think.
"Yes, I want this. I love you so, so much."
Slowly, I sat up, and he reached behind me to unzip my dress. I shuddered in anticipation as the dress fell around my waist, my chest exposed. I felt the slightest tinge of embarrassment as I looked down at my breasts. They were small, and I had never shown them to a boy before. Even on those nights with Draco or Timmy, I always had at least a nightgown on. And it was always just sleeping, never anything more. I felt so vulnerable, so unsure. I looked back up at Harry, and a small smile formed on his lips.
"You're perfect, Audrianna." He reached his fingers to gently trace my skin. "Every part of you is perfect." I laid back down as he stood to undress, counting down the seconds until I could hold him again. He climbed back into the bed, and we began to make love. It was sweet, and passionate. But mostly, it was natural, as if neither of us had to think at all. We just listened to our hearts, and completely let go.
Then, tired and in love, we fell asleep as the crickets finished their lullaby.
